for the record, I 100% agree that Barkley won't go #1, but just to prove I'm not blowing smoke (see Charles Davis)...

I didn't doubt it as I'm sure there are those who think he will go high but their mindset is asinine.

I had a debate on here a week or so ago, with S&L, about the Jets trading up to #3 to "settle" for a QB that wouldn't be their top choice. The Browns would be doing almost the same, in reverse, rolling the dice, hoping their guy fell to #4. I don't think there's much difference in the top 3 QB's but I bet the Browns have a favorite and don't think they are interchangeable.

Just take the QB and get it over with. The thoughts of Chubb at 4 are much more appealing than Barkley at 1 or 4.

Heard from multiple folks after go QB 1st Overall and Chubb/Barkley/Denzel 4th Overall... They'll trade back into Rd1 with . Rumors this time of Yr are everywhere, but I've been hearing this one since before combine... Seahawks only pick in Top 120 is 18th.

Maybe a tackle?

Oh true, a tackle would be a wise investment assuming he's not a pile. Maybe that guy from ND?

McGlinchey (tackle from ND) is projected to be the top OT in the draft and will likely be long gone by the time the Browns pick. More likely the kid from UCLA. Could also go RB (Guice) at that pick, as he's picking up steam to possibly be a late 1st rounder.

Not a huge Kolton Miller fan, least not in the 1st round. Call me a homer, but I like Jamarco Jones better than him.

I'm not a fan of Miller's either. Just think he'll be there at 18 (easily). I kind of like the O'Neill kid out of Pittsburgh. Pretty athletic (former tight end) but will need some work.

More Browns transactions. Cleveland is set to agree to terms with former Packers WR Jeff Janis, per source. @nflnetwork @gmfb @NFL

If he sucks, I don't want him at 18.

I'd be pretty pissed...

https://www.si.com/nfl/2018/04/01/josh-rosen-jim-mora-odell-beckham-trade-draft-mmqb-peter-king

FOD (Friend of Dorsey) thinks Browns will go Allen-Saquon at 1 and 4. What would an April MMQB be without another draft rumor?! This friend of Cleveland GM John Dorsey believes he’ll go Wyoming quarterback Josh Allen over Sam Darnold with the first overall pick, keep the fourth pick, and take Penn State running back Saquon Barkley. “I would be surprised if he traded down,” FOD told me. “This would be his chance to take his two offensive cornerstones for the next eight or 10 years.” The most interesting thing there? That FOD thinks Dorsey will not trade. I think that’s great. Cleveland’s been very good at trading and stockpiling, and not very good at drafting, in the last few years. I hope Dorsey’s more about the (relatively) sure things instead of Cleveland leading the league in draft picks.

More on the QB Class from MMQB...

“I think the quarterback class is a hair overrated.” So says former NFL quarterback Chris Simms, now a Bleacher Report analyst. I asked him to rate this class of quarterbacks, in first-round order, and he had some interesting thoughts. His list:

1. Josh Allen, Wyoming

2. Josh Rosen, UCLA

3. Baker Mayfield, Oklahoma

4. Lamar Jackson, Louisville

5. Sam Darnold, USC

Notable, obviously, is Darnold’s placement. “The most confusing thing to me is that Sam Darnold is definitely the number one or two pick by everyone,” Simms said. “I am not trying to be a jerk to the kid, but the skill set I see on the field doesn’t relate to a can’t-miss prospect. I don’t think there’s anything he does elite physically. He’s toward the bottom as a thrower of the football, and he’s careless with the football.”

Simms on Allen: “He’s got elite arm talent, a [Brett] Favre or [Pat] Mahomes arm. Elite athlete for his size, like Carson Wentz. People talk about his accuracy, but his pass-protection was poor, and he had the worst talent around him of any of these guys.” He likes Jackson, but, as most draft observers say, he’s hurting himself by not being available to do the pre-draft things franchise quarterbacks need to be available to do. “But he’s got the biggest upside of anyone in the class,” Simms said.

Allen-Barkley would be terrible to me.

Also, Chris Simms isn't exactly who I'd get my draft ratings from, dude isn't the brightest.

I agree on Simms but I can't necessarily argue with his assessment of Darnold or Allen. I think Darnold's upside is Blake Bortles and Allen's is Paxton Lynch.

That would officially turn me into a "fair weather" Browns fan.  I will most likely stop paying attention until they show any signs of life.  Keep in mind the entire Browns organization showed up for Darnold's pro day, had a private work out, Haslam had dinner with the entire family, and he stayed to watch his pro day.  None of this as far as I know happened with  Allen.  I still think Darnold is the choice.

We still have pretty much a full month of all of this bullshit.  Now we get reports from Dorsey's "friend" (LOL).  It just proves all of these credentialed media experts have no idea wtf they are talking about.  We need Chad Ford to cross over to the NFL this month so he can quote an anonymous server in Cleveland.

The only caveat with Dorsey's "friend" was that Peter King was dead nuts on the Mahomes to KC pick so he knows somebody somewhere.

Well Paxton Lynch will never play a down in the NFL unless several QBs ahead of him get hurt. Soooo that’s not much of an upside.

That's his point.  BR has made it clear numerous times,  that he isn't impressed with this draft class.
