Well Paxton Lynch will never play a down in the NFL unless several QBs ahead of him get hurt. Soooo that’s not much of an upside.

He's going to need to sit a long time before he should see the field. Has accuracy issues, can't read a defense, etc. He is, by far, the "prototype" but the dude needs molded. The accuracy issues are very concerning. I don't agree that some of these coaches, especially Hue Jackson, can fix a QB's accuracy problems. If this guy didn't have all of his issues, he'd be Roethlisberger 2.0, minus the rapeyness.

I’m not a fan of his at all. I guess I just found it funny that someone’s upside could be a huge bust lol basically just say you think he’ll suck ass.

Pretty much. The term "media creation" seems to be the flavor of the week but I think this guy is the definition. Has all of the physical tools but sucked ass against legit competition along with the other stuff I mentioned. The last person's opinion I respect, regarding QB evaluation is Brian Billick but when Billick says he thinks Allen is the "next Kyle Boller" it raises my eyebrows a bit.

The guy is the ultimate project. The Browns, with the addition of TT, have the luxury of allowing a drafted QB to sit & learn but the question is "even with the time to learn, are the drafted QB's issues fixable?" I just don't think Allen's are.

If they take him, I'll definitely root for the guy and hope he's the anomaly that CAN be fixed but I'll still be pissed. Same if they take Barkley at #4. To me, that would be a Maddenesque FF type draft.

I’m still team “Darnold/Allen at 1, BPA at 4”

I doubt anything changes my mind on that. I certainly don’t believe “John Dorsey’s friend” lol

Interesting. You like Allen at 1? I thought maybe Darnold or Rosen there for you.

I completely forgot that yesterday was April Fool's Day and when I got up I heard everything from "they've traded the #1 pick" to "they've acquired OBJ in a trade." lol...I didn't bite on any of these as the first one I saw was the trading of the #1 pick, which wouldn't have stunned me.

Earlier in this thread, we were discussing BS ref calls that still pissed us off, yet no one mentioned this one:

What the fuck?

I feel as though if you made a Venn Diagram of "Browns Videos" and "Browns Videos that are depressing", you'd get a near perfect circle.

This might be the first (and only) time MKC gets at least a golf clap from me....

Completely hypothetical here...would you trade our 4th pick to the Pats (so they can get their next QB) for Gronk, the 23rd pick, 31st pick, and let’s say a 2nd rounder next year?

FUCK NO, two reasons why:

1. Jimmy

2. G

No. Gronk doesn’t do anything for me. He’s great. But he’s only got a few years left (which he has said) and would take time away from Njoku. I want 2 of the top 5 players in this draft

I'm more inclined to think that if we trade back from 4 we will do it with the Bills and take their picks at 12 and 22 plus a pick in next years draft.  That would likely force Lamar Jackson into the top 8 if QBs go first four.

Damn....more & more I hear about these QB's, the less & less I like. Now hearing comparisons of Darnold to Andy Dalton?

As far as the Patriots go, it sounds like they are in love with Rosen and would like to move up for him.

BR man, you seriously need to take about a 6 month break from sports radio. I’ve never seen someone regurgitate more from what they hear there, especially when you claim you think they are awful.

Sorry, not local sports talk. The Dalton comparison came from Rosen's former HC, Jim Mora Jr in an interview with, I believe, Dan Patrick. These weren't opinions from some local guy throwing out a "hot take." Mora said he thought Darnold would be a better fit in Cleveland (than Rosen) because Hue Jackson had done wonders with Andy Dalton and Darnold was comparable to Dalton. Sorry, but I'm not burning the #1 overall pick on Andy Dalton

I'm not saying anything new in that I really don't like any of these QB's a  whole lot. Sad as it sounds, Allen probably has the most upside because he needs to improve the most and has the physical tools. The only "plug and play" QB is Mayfield and he may already be at about his ceiling. Don't like Darnold as I think he's not going to be much better than average, has turnover issues and, frankly, I think he's a quitter after watching him versus OSU. The list on Rosen is too numerous to mention and I really want no part of that cat.

I will sprinkle in a minimal amount of local sports talk on my commute in but, for the most part, I'm listening to former GM's and personnel guys on Sirius' NFL channel.

I am not really concerned what Jim Mora has to say.  Everywhere he has gone he has failed. He is also coming off as a guy who will say anything to either 1. Help Rosen on a better team than the Browns and/or 2. get attention for his potential career with media.

In comparing Darnold to Andy Dalton, wouldn't you think that would drive the Browns away from Darnold and towards Rosen? I wouldn't exactly consider it a compliment.

That's Mora's take.  As I said before, I'm not concerned with his opinion.  If the FO is tuning in to hear what Mora (or any "expert") has to say instead of reviewing the film then we are fucked anyway.
