He tweeted that he’s not suspended and just working on a few personal things.

I’m sure this is nothing.

I don't trust anything that has to do with JG. But I obv hope you're right. It is very questionable timing regardless.

After seeing another article, it makes me even more nervous that an NFL spokesman has commented on it AND said "There is currently no timetable for his return" and "We'll address the matter at the appropriate time".

Man, I hope there's nothing bad from his. Rooting for him to turn it around but highly skeptical he will. If he got busted again, all that big interview he did was bullshit lip service, telling people what they wanted to hear. Can't wait for Thursday!

My stance with Gordon hasn't changed since the last few years.  If he plays, then good.  If not, I won't be losing any sleep.  He was drafted 6 years ago.  At this point keeping him around is a low risk; high reward.  The FO hasn't been making moves with Gordon in mind, so it's a bonus if he plays.

It does feel like anytime the Browns have some "feel good" momentum going, a Josh Gordon story takes a huge shit on it.

I agree in general for the short term. Beyond that, if the Browns actually start making some headway, it will be important that all contributors can be counted on.

Gordon, right now (as mentioned), is a luxury. If he plays, great but this team was previously so devoid of play maker talent that it was to the point people were praying for him to get his shit together because he was the only impact offensive guy on the team. Now, they have a few good ones so is he crashes & burns, oh well, but he would be a nice piece to have along with Landry, Njoku, Duke and the other RB's.

I wonder if this has something to do with his anxiety and with hard knocks being there? Either way if he didn’t fail any tests and no relapse then kudos to the browns and the NFL for allowing him to do this to help him continue to get better. From the sound of it he won’t be gone for very long.

No.

Also, the more I'm hearing about this, the more I think we're going to get bad news on Gordon.

What are you “hearing?”

Both Schefter and Rapaport reported he didn’t fail a test fwiw.

You always get a bad feeling with Gordon since every time something like this comes up, he misses the entire season. A couple years ago when he checked himself into rehab.. missed the entire season. Not saying that will happen here.. but his name in the news is never good.

The fact that the league has made a comment on this doesn't bode well for him, imo.

If there was nothing going on, and Gordon was just doing this on his own, why would the league even need to make a comment? This should be an internal/in house thing.

That makes no sense. The league stepped in a long time ago to help Josh and this is just them informing everyone of what they know and that it’s not a failed drug test or step back at all. He’s probably just feeling a lot of pressure coming into his first full season and with the cameras there for hard knocks he’s probably being proactive in making sure he’s mentally ready for this. It’s a long preseason, he’ll be back soon.

I'd imagine the league made a comment b/c reporters called and asked for a comment. Though they could have just said no comment I guess.

That felt like entirely too much use of "comment".

Dorsey/ Hue press conference. Both wearing Browns sweater and Elfi hat (they are def pushing the elf this year). Ricardo Louis out all year. Going to bring in some wr's to possibly sign one, Peppers starting on Pup. Hue hasn't talked with JG for at least a week, and they don't know a timeline for him to return.

Rappoport is saying the Browns have interest in Dez.

Do it. Do it yesterday. The dude is going to be so incredibly motivated after Dallas said to hell with ya.

They said it in the presser. I'm not sure how serious they were about it. It sounded more like, "well of course we discussed Dez". Hopefully they look  hard though, because they were VERY standoffish on JG stuff.
