Regardless of Hue, I'm pretty excited to get this season going. With the addition of Haley, I think this team, unlike season's past, will be more than watchable. Seems like there's always a team who surprises....why not the Browns? As fans, aren't we about due?

Yeah it will definitely help if Haley is calling the plays instead of Hue. Add in better receivers and a QB who doesn't turn the ball over. They should d definitely  have a better time this year.

They have a shit ton of weapons...especially if Gordon can round into form. With Landry on the roster, I don't see JG putting up the gaudy numbers he did the one year but they should be able to move the chains consistently and limit turnovers with Tyrod. With that, the defense should be improved because of additions and the fact they probably won't be spending 2/3rd's of the game on the field. I just hope they can/will run the damn ball.

The D will be improved because Tyrod won't force them to defend a 20 yard field 3-4 times a game.

If they can get some wins (by some I mean 5-7), be fun/competitive when they do, and give us hope for the future I think we can all be happy with this season.  The last time I had legitimate hope was the season coming off of Gordon's monster year, but he immediately ruined it when he tested positive.

The only way I have optimism is if in those 5-7 wins Baker is leading them to several of them or at least looking good doing so. If TT plays the whole year and Baker sits, I won't have a lot of confidence going into 2019 because I think there's zero chance TT is here next year unless he leads them to a 13-3 record or something.

My impression is this WR and TE (and some of the RB as above average in the passing game) group will make Taylor look really good.

It should. These are the best weapons he's ever had around him.

Have the Browns had better skilled players since '89?

Agreed. Perfect storm. K2 & Braylon had their only really good years. Joe J was solid and Jamal Lewis found lightning in a bottle for that last year. None of them performed close to that again, I believe.

I'll back track a little on my "best weapons" comment. It sounds like some of the weapons Tyrod had (Watkins/Woods) in Buffalo went on to find better success without him once they left so I'll keep my enthusiasm somewhat tempered. Yes, Tyrod is better that what the Browns have had but, fact of the matter is that, he's a pretty pedestrian QB (2800 yards, 14 TD's, 4 INT'S and got benched for Nathan Peterman while the team was in playoff contention). He's not going to turn the ball over a ton but he's also not going to put the team on his back and win games.

The pederson benching was a joke. It literally lasted for 3 quarters.

Understood but Tyrod is more serviceable than he is good. He'll be a decent bridge to get to Mayfield but I'm not expecting him to morph into this top 10 QB (not that anyone here has implied that) because he has a few more good weapons. He is what he is...a journeyman. He was the Browns third choice behind Alex Smith & Nick Foles. Once they couldn't get one of those guys they opted for TT.

I don’t Really think anyone is arguing that with you?

No one has claimed TT is anything other than a decent, game-managing QB.
