Will Indians back out since Reds didn’t pull him? Puig might be looking at several game suspension.

He was my favorite Reds player this season. I think you’ll love him. I’ll be rooting hard for him.

Indians should get an extra start out of Bauer since Puig will be suspended lol.

Yeah. When I said raid the SD farm it was because I assumed their current Major Leaguers wouldn’t be available. Reyes could easily be a 40+ HR guy for his entire tenure in Cleveland. Which is through 2025!!

Tribe trades Idiot for Idiot, AND gets Reyes and a lefty!

Reyes is a monster ....major power.

He plays RF....will he be a DH some for Cleveland. Naquin is good in RF isn’t he? .840 OPS

Can Naquin take his talents to CF, maybe Reyes in LF

What do you think?

Possibly two other guys (no idea what position they play) too, Scott Moss from reds and Victor Nova from SD.

edit to add

Allen was Padres #7 prospect

Moss was Reds #12 prospect

Victor Nova is 19 years old and hitting .330 in rookie ball

Puig has 22 HR

Reyes has 27 HR in a major pitcher’s park and isn’t even arbitration eligible until after 2022

Naquin can play all three OF spots,Reyes in RF,Puig maybe DH some outfield. Logan Allen is a good left hander.

Now for the Reds part of the deal, you got a pitcher with electric stuff but most of the time the electricity to his head is turned off. He over thinks thing or gets to wrapped up in throwing the same pitch all the time.

Real question is why did the reds do this? They aren’t in contention and you get Bauer for one year at a high price? SD not in contention either.

This is a very accurate description.

I like Naquin, but he was terrible in CF.

Now the question is, is he the expendable one?

Seriously...:Puig is sensational in RF. DH him would be not smart. I’ve never ever seen a more respected arm as in base coaches and runners never, ever try the extra base. His hustle in RF is a perfect 10....he wants to make the play.

Trammel weak arm, little power and having a poor year. Reds might get Puig back after this year...won’t surprise me. Will likely trade Tanner Roark....insert Bauer

On the video that I saw, Puig was doing a lot of yelling. Is there a video that shows more or what he would have done to deserve a suspension?

Things had died down and this isn’t a first time thing. Suspensions may be hefty. I’ll guess Puig 3-5 games. David Bell maybe 10. Amir 5-10

Puig is plug and play in RF, no question. Naquin should move to LF and Reyes DH. We can say goodbye to Bauers until September. Naquin and Luplow continue to platoon in LF.

I can’t guarantee how he will hit....his swing has gotten long and slow the last two weeks. I don’t think a tough fix. I will promise he will be a GREAT teammate and he is huge in getting out into the community. He loves helping kids of the community. Definitely a fan favorite. He’ll play as hard as hell.

Hope it works out.

Reds and Pirates melee

Holy Fuck

Bell going after Hurdle

Amir Garrett going after everyone

And my stupid fucking ass apparently mistook the eighth inning for the ninth and missed it all, lol... And, sadly, will be at work during the game tomorrow, which sucks because with a short turnaround to an afternoon game, it'd be interesting to see the emotions. As well as the discipline because, from what I heard, that was an actual bit of a brawl instead of the usual "come out with 1-2 people kind of mad and everyone else just there to look like good teammates even though they don't give a fuck" sort of thing.

Pitching-wise, they'd have a very good 1-3 in rotation with Bauer, Castillo and Gray. And they have a lot of offensive talent that just hasn't been game-to-game consistent (if anything, underachieving this year compared to the last couple overall). And the NL Central is Mediocrity Central, where none of the five teams have been all that good this year. So I can see their reasoning. If anything, I wish my Pirates would take the same tactic instead of the "hope every single prospect REALLY pans out and can get good years out of low-cost vets hoping to bounce back" strategy that works out...so fucking well...all the time".

Like the trade but still think they need to add a starting arm to fill out that 5th spot. If they were to make the playoffs, don't trust a Clevinger-Bieber-Plesac top 3 with Kluber & Salazar being unknowns. Not confident in their rotation, right now.
