The 3x3 bball teams are both 0-3 after entering with medal aspirations.

Jimmer Fredette didn’t play in today’s game. The team technically has four players and will sub out every couple plays or so. So playing the whole game with just three guys and still only losing by two points seems honorable. But if he can’t play or isn’t 100% then their hopes are down the toilet. Probably already are anyways.

Idk if I enjoy the 3x3 style or not. It’s definitely designed to be fast paced and intense. Fredette was on the Ryen Russillo podcast a few weeks ago and kind of boasted about his shooting ability - which he is known for to be fair - and how if he gets hot and hits a few deep shots in a game they’re that much more likely to win. But that seems like a tough ask in these games. They’re playing in a court about the size of a third of a regular court with very little spacing or separation. Hard to get many good, clean looks. Plus I think he was the shortest guy on the court and was getting hunted in the PnR’s.

Tl;dr: the 3x3 bball teams suck so far.

The 3x3 is a big ol WTF???

I feel I deserve at least a silver medal for going all day and not hearing that Biles won gold

I’ll struggle doing the same for track

Hey, I saw the guys team win one today! Unless I've missed a game here or there, that should put them at 1-4. Not sure what the women's team's record currently is.

Speaking of the shooting events, have we actually gotten a medal yet this year?

Been saying a lot of the Twitter talk showing us with no medals at least as of yesterday at some point, usually with comments along the lines of "for such a pro-gun country, we sure suck at this stuff". I mean, I do remember watching one night on USA, us getting a bronze in mixed doubles archery, so we at least have competence at some "aim at target and shoot" events, but it is wild that we, of all countries, can't get in the top three with the guns.

Dude jumping 30 feet in the air on the trampoline and just whiffs the trampoline and safety dude threw a big mat for him to crash onto

Crazy stuff to watch or even think

I was reading an article about the skeet shooting guy (I assume pictured), he won his fourth gold in skeet today (diff years). It is odd we aren’t better though.

Ah, cool. Figured we'd be good at that. I don't live that far from a pretty large skeet/trap facility that seems to run good business and has a lot of tournaments.

USA leaving the 19 year old in the finals of the mixed 4x400 was the most obvious ending ever.

Femke Bol was never not going to catch her. Sydney would’ve easily held on for gold.

Bol vs Sydney in 400H….race of the Olympics in my mind

Bol looked incredibly comfortable in that lap.

Unreal men's 100M final in track.  Photo finish for 1-4.

And still 0.20 seconds slower than Usain's Bolt's world record.  That's going to stand for another 50 years.

You guys should go back and watch the end of the women’s road race (cycling). Fast forward to like 4-5km left in the race. If you have Peacock that is. I watched a Youtube clip but it didn’t do it justice.

If the shooting events took place inside of schools and the guns used were ARs, we'd definitely have more medals.

This USA - Brazil M Volleyball match is awesome so far. USA came back from down 6 in set 1 to win it 26-24.
