Noob question: NFL free agency officially starts March 17th. Why was Mark Ingram able to reach agreement with Texans then today?

If he was already released, ala JJ Watt, he's free to sign at any time.
Damnit...Bud Dupree to the Titans.
That SUCKS
Damn.
It is with incredible sadness that I have to share the news about the passing of my beautiful Daughter Maia. Maia, as my first born child, has been the joy of my, and her Mother Shikiri’s, life.

Overpaid, big time. Should fit well in that scheme though.
Although PFF has their "best signing/worst signing of the day" rankings and the Browns signing John Johnson III was their best signing and Tennessee signing DuPree was their worst.
I wouldn't worry about it too much, if there's one thing Colbert can draft, it's LB's & WR's.

Damn, that is rough. Only 25.
The moths must have pried open Mike Brown's wallet. First the Bengals sign Trey Hendrickson, now Mike Hilton. Solid defensive additions but they aren't going to keep Burrow upright.

He was gigantic for the Steelers...him going down sent them spiraling
Now lost Hilton who was one of their best DBs

Not that he was probably a huge piece but I saw they lost their NT to JAX also.
If they can move money around, they have a shot at retaining Juju. The WR isn't very good and a lot of these guys are going to have to take significantly less than they wanted. Besides Juju there's Will Fuller & Kenny Golladay that are also looking to get paid. Could sign 1 year deals?

I don’t like what they lost to maybe sign a JuJu receiver.
Wrong direction but I’ll give them the benefit until proven wrong

I get it but that's what happens to most teams that a) have a franchise QB that they have to pay and b) keep restructuring contracts to "kick the can down the road" until it eventually catches up to them. Steelers & Saints are dealing with this now. Seahawks have in the past. If the Browns extend Baker to a long-term deal it will catch them eventually too.
I always thought the narrative was bad to go spend early and a lot in free agency. But that doesn’t seem to apply to the Patriots this offseason. Media loves them some Belichick.

Most guaranteed money spent in FA since 2016 is between the Jets and Jaguars who also have the two worst winning percentages during that time.
Belichick probably feels like a kid in a candy store but if you look at the signings, the best are probably Judon & Smith. What he paid for those two WR's is just stupid.
Sounds like AJ Green may end up in Arizona. Would be a nice fit as a 2nd option.
AJ was probably one of my favorite bengals ever. But I won’t miss him twisting his ankle in training camp and missing 12 weeks.
Jets showing interest in Juju, even after signing Corey Davis.

Do you think Darnold's going to be their QB this year?
