Now that Witten is retiring, I would love to see the Cowboys go get Gisecki from Penn State.

Would probably have to move up though.

The "wants to play again" is probably a pipe dream and really shouldn't be anything more than that. IF (and that's as big of an "if" as possible) he actually could get back to a state where he could play again, it'd be a real dumb idea, as one more bad hit would probably fuck him up completely for life. As for last night, didn't look good, but just the fact he was able to walk says a lot. Earlier, when I saw him at a hockey game (I think?), it seemed like it took a lot of effort for him to just stand up.

I made mention of this to thavoice on the NFL thread a while ago but one of the afternoon guys on 92.3 (Dustin Fox) is a former NFL player and an OSU grad. He's gotten to be friends with Shazier and even back to Shazier's Buckeye playing days Fox said he warned Shazier "you can't tackle like that (leading with the head"...you're gonna get hurt" and Shazier basically said "it's how I tackle."

I was think he'd be the one they'd target today. Weird how he's throwing out football's last night at the draft and today he hangs them up. BTW...Staubach still has a gun for a geezer.

I have a hard time believing any doctor would ever clear him to play.

It’s moot IMO, but does he have to have doctors clearance?

I would assume any team would want a clearance before letting him step on the field.

I would think so.....at least for the NFL but who knows for the other leagues propping up.

There is no way he plays again, just wont be physically able nor should he. I appreciate his drive and dedication but it just isn't happening.

Orlando Brown had a terrible combine but I think he will be a solid guy for Baltimore and a great 3rd RD pick

Glad Jeff Triplette is finally out of the league

What team is gonna allow him to play without doctor clearance? They sure as fuck don’t wanna be sued for millions.

I’m surprised St Brown is still out there.

Lol, that came across very harsh. But put yourself in an NFL owners shoe. Your response, across the board, is likely to be “Ryan, you’re an incredible person who has overcome more than anyone could imagine. But if a medical professional won’t clear you, I simply can’t risk your health on my watch.”

Thought they might go LB but a good OT is seldom a bad draft

I get it. I ridiculously left out the view of the team. It was dumb and I understood why.
