Halloween plans

What is everyone planning for Halloween this year? Anyone still go to Halloween parties?

We bought one large bag of candy to pass out. I'm out of bourbon/scotch right now, I might buy myself a bottle to sip as we sit on the front porch in the (likely) chilly weather. If you're handing out candy, how many kids do you usually get at your house? I wrote it down in my field notes I was using at the time last year. I think it was somewhere around 100 kids for us.

No on the parties, but we do hand out candy....last year we counted about 125 kids, and the weather sucked--usually we're in the 200 range.

We started getting 250 to 300 a few years ago - 15 or 20 years ago we'd be lucky to have 75.  Many of them now come from other neighborhoods in our school district, which I don't mind.  We get to see more kids in costumes, and it's a lot of fun.  And I know they're safer in our neighborhood than some of the others.

Not sure about kid count. It's usually not that much. Maybe 50. Last year we took our kids out and just left some candy on the front porch.

Best part about handing out candy is when it's getting near the end and you still have a ton of candy left over so you have to make the decision of do I keep the rest of this in my house or do I just start giving whoever's left a bunch of candy to get rid of it.

Will be handing out candy but it seems like less & less come each year. We are definitely one of the 'attractions" in town as I've turned my front yard into a zombie graveyard with animatronics, props, etc. Have probably put more money into it than I should've, adding new pieces each year.

We go to Halloween Charity Ball the Friday before halloween each year. $50, open bar from 8-12, costume contests. It's always a good time. My friend and I are going as Axl and Slash this year. I've gone as rock, paper, scissors, a Ty beanie baby, Lisa Frank, a snapchat filter, crazy cat lady...I obviously enjoy dressing up.

We usually head to a friend's house for trick or treat the day after. We turn it into a small get together and watch college football and the World Series if it's on. I feel bad not handing out candy in our neighborhood, but we never get many kids.

My bday is the 29th so I'm big on Halloween. Going to a massive warehouse party Saturday. I may go to the parade on Wednesday, it's great people watching.

We used to host a Halloween party every yr, but don't think we're going to do it this yr. I've only gotten 2 kids come to my apt in the 7 yrs I've lived here.

We only get neighbors that we know and maybe 10 others. We live at the very front of a neighborhood that not many people come down to. With having an almost 9 month old, we will take some beers and walk her around (in a wagon) to our close neighbors and then come back and sit on the porch.

Trick or Treat is tonight in Newark. We have around 50 kids and the numbers have dropped since they do the safe Halloween on the Courthouse Square.

We have a Halloween party every year and we are having in on Saturday with Halloween being on a Wednesday.

All the guys in my cul-de-sac sit together and pass out candy, eat chili, and drink beer.  We get a few hundred kids. Our neighborhood is huge and people come from all over to hit us up for candy.

Trick or treat was Saturday here, but we had plans and didn't get to hand out candy.

0 kids last night.

Last 7 halloweens we've had I think 2 kids come to our door total. Wish more would come, I think it's fun.
