I can potentially buy the theory that this was accidentally unleashed from one of their virology labs.

The movie Outbreak opened my eyes to the reality of this.  Now, that was a virus that re-emerged in the wild, but it was a virus that the government knew about from the '70s, and withheld in their own labs (along with antidote) as a weapon b/c they knew of the destruction it could cause.  

Just made me sit back and wonder how many deadly viruses are being held back as a potential WMD by governments all over the world.

If anyone actually wants to review drug-specific info, outcomes, etc... The SIDP is posting informational reviews of various agents that have been theorized to play a role in COVID treatment: https://sidp.org/page-1543429.

Someone else had posted about a site that allowed you to look at county-specific data. I'm not sure if this is the one, but https://infection2020.com/ allows you to see prevalence, total positives, and deaths. Unfortunately, 24-hour trends are only listed at the national level.

Unrelated to the above, my wife and I will benefit greatly from the 6 months pause on interest to public loans; more importantly, we don't have to make payments during those 6 months, and our Public Service Loan Forgiveness clock will keep ticking. Just hit the half-way point and I'm really hoping it will still be around in 5 years.

My husband is on year 5 as well, and I swear to God if these assholes in charge get rid of that program...😡.

I don't think China covering it up is a crazy conspiracy.  

Does anyone actually think that they didn't cover it up and lie about it? That's not a conspiracy, it's fact. They are still lying about their numbers.

We watched it on Monday night. Never heard of the movie until a few weeks ago when my cousin watched it. Loaded cast. Funny how these movies are all real life now.

What China did do is unleash this thing, covered it up till it got out of hand, and then killed thousands of people if not hundreds of thousands.

Right now the conspiracy theory crowd is going bonkers over it.  

Oh sure.  I buy completely that they covered it up.  Probably to save face or avoid blame, which has obviously backfired now.

I don't think China covering it up is a crazy conspiracy.  Do any of you all trust anything they say right now?  I think accusing them of using this as a weapon is a crazy conspiracy.  I know they don't really give a fuck about hurting their people, but it doesn't add up to why they would want to hurt their own economy.

China is, and has been, on a long-term mission to become the ‘global leader’.  A reporter in the briefing yesterday stated (in response to China supposedly delivering medical supplies to other countries) that China has become the ‘global leader’ in fighting this virus worldwide.  I mean, WORD FOR WORD exactly what China wants the media to say.  So, with that type of brainwashing and support, China could indeed start this shit show, then turn around and make it look like they are the ‘global leader’ in combating the crisis, and thus gain enormous credibility in the media, without the media ever asking one serious question.  It is pretty disgusting right now listening to the sympathizers in our own media.  Hard to say yet whether they spread this disease on purpose, but key people vanishing and the payment of hush money is certainly not helping their cause.
