I had a Cohina the other day....started out much better than I remembered, was actually really liking it.  Then it finished a bit hot and bitter.  May have been a bit dry as my humidor had fallen to 65%.

Partagas still winning for smoothest cigars I've had.  Doesn't leave me 1/3 of the "cigar throat & mouth" that other cigars do, either.

That's the one downside to a burly, spicy cigar.  I usually have to brush my teeth and use mouthwash three times before bed to make sure I don't wake up breathing fire like a dragon.

I had a Cohiba a few days ago (a different one than the picture) that canoed a little and hot boxed at the end, and the humidity was low, so I wonder if that has something to do with it.  I'd been keeping it in my travel humidor, which was only at about 60% when we cracked them open.

La Perla Habana Black Pearl Morado (93 rated).  Nice, med-full smoke.  One of my favorites so far.

Love the Black Pearl.  Friend introduced me to it about five years ago, while I was at a better-than-expected cigar, pipe, and hookah shop in Fairlawn.  The lady who owns and runs it told me as I was checking out that I'd like it a lot.  Even with both my buddy and her playing it up, I was impressed.

Oliva knows its shit.  And it's not the V, so it won't kick your ass too much.

Oliva will be the feature cigar next Thursday at Jungle Jim's Cigar Night next Thursday.

I did win a hat, shirt, and back pack at the event last night. It was CLE/Asylum 13 night. Didn't win any cigars though.

The wife and I are headed to Michigan Thursday morning or I probably would've tried to go to this.

very good. mild but had like a spicy feel to it, if that makes any sense lol. it was a pretty uneven burn though, but i don't really care about that if it tastes good.

Just FYI it was the Platinum No 3 -  LINK

What kinda lighter are you all using? I'm using a crappy single flame torch lighter my brother in law gave me that only works half the time. Or a long bic lighter. Looking to pick up a decent double torch lighter, kinda liking the Xikar Allume right now but hate the price. I've found a few decent deals on ebay, so I may go that route and get it for half-ish price.

I have an old Xikar Resource I that I bought like eight years ago.  I can't find an online shot of one (and I'm not going to dig mine out at the moment), but it's basically like this:

Comes with pipe tools, which was a tie-breaker for me, because I do occasionally smoke a pipe as well.

I saw my brother-in-law over the weekend.  He was in town to pick up a few things from the in-laws.  He's in the Air Force, and he actually gets to fly the president, VP, and the secret service around from time to time, so he wanted to treat his father and I to a couple great sticks and some nice Redbreast 12-year Irish whiskey while he told us about it.

Was not disappointed, either with the stories, the sticks, or the whiskey.

Any good stories you can actually share?

Trump and Obama were both polite and friendly people.  Apparently, Hillary Clinton was NOT ... not a nice person at all.

Trump apparently loves MnMs to an absurd degree, but all presidents actually have their own candy made separate and shipped directly so as to limit any chance of tampering.  It's still made by the respective manufacturers, of course.  It's just not purchased in stores.  The wrappers are actually printed with different prints, including reference to the fact that it's POTUS candy.

Also, I guess Trump takes the no-drinking thing REALLY strictly.  Even if he's at a toast, whatever's in his champagne flute is non-alcoholic.

Also, the CIA builds furniture anytime they furnish a house for whatever reason.  Like, they have full-time government employees making furniture.  That part blew my mind.

I have a 3-flame lighter I got in a Partagas sampler pack from CI.  Reviews were a bit mixed, but I think it gets the job done well.

I'm sure I probably overpaid for an inferior product....just can't bring myself to caring about a few bucks.
