Poll: Change...I don't like it

Our department at work just moved from the location we've been at in the 3+ years I've been there, to a new floor. Our old location had high-walled "cubicles" with plenty of privacy and tons of storage. Individual coat closets, lots of shelves and drawers.

Our new location has smaller, low-walled "cubicles" with no shelving, no drawers, no closet. The desk surface area is about 25% smaller. All privacy is gone. And, to make matters worse, I got jerked around and went from a bad desk to the worst possible desk in our new location.

Anyway, long story short, I hate change. I like the comfort of the known and familiar. How about you? You cool with change? Indifferent? Or, like me, do you hate change?

Whatever was changed to It Depends. It'll show whenever the cache clears.

I mainly lean toward hating change.  If there is a routine/space/etc I am used to, I don't like changing it up.  There are times where change is welcoming (i.e. getting a new boss to replace a shitty one).  I'd say im 75/25 for hate/like.

I'd say I'm somewhere between "hate" and "it depends" as well...I do know that I don't embrace it...at all

Our entire department (12 people) was against it.

Mine depends on the industry. I almost always embrace new tech. I hate having out of date shit tech wise. Love getting a new car (goes along with new tech I guess). Always willing to try new restaurants/food vs going to the same place again and again. Hate daily routines, and if I ever have one everyone around me would probably beg me to quit.

Hate change when it comes to my house/moving. Don’t like having my plans change last minute. Don’t like having to take new routes to places I drive.

LOL. I need to rewatch Office Space. But that's about right.

Nice view - I was nowhere near a window for my first 21 years on the job

"Embrace change" is one of those stupid business-speak phrases that usually means "more bricks with less straw".  Every time I embraced it, it showered me with more stress.  You should have seen me the last 3 years of my career.  I was practically a zombie from all that hugging.

Now, routine, for want of a better word, is good.  Unfortunately, Mrs. Zunardo is always watching HGTV or RV shows and saying, "Now, this is going to be our next project".   I'll probably die early, but it least she'll get the insurance and retirement.

I'm ok with change for the better, not just for the sake of change or change that is worse.

I used to do pc support for a company who liked to redo their starting chart just to show people who was in charge. That was a pain in the ass. At the same company I went from sharing an office (with a window) with 1 person to a room with low walled cubes and no windows and 10 other people. I hated it.

It depends.  I hate change just because "yay change."  Tech is a perfect example of this, and Tapatalk is a perfecter example of this.  "Let's make a new update, just to be flashy!"  A lot of times when this happens, the old way was 100% fine.

I don't like change, but in retrospect, I seem to adapt to it well. Still would prefer it never happened unless on my own terms.

I'll be the one to embrace change. I do like routines, but I've just learned over the years that getting all upset over change is a waste of time. I'll use the old Don Draper line from Mad Men, "Change isn't good or bad. It just is."

I've found that I've also enjoyed the now more and not be too upset about something that is wrong as I know things will be different sometime soon.
