I think that might be highly debatable.  Bin Laden and Al Qaeda had free reign to train and plot.  Our invasion crippled him and his organization, while also drawing fighters to us over there.

Agree we should have probably withdrawn 10 years ago after Bin Laden was killed (yes, in Pakistan I know).

Iraq was the much more questionable war.  But oddly enough I think they are doing reasonably well (in comparison to the rest of the ME)?

Not being snarky, but can we find a better alternative to such threats than occupying a country for decades at a cost of trillions?

STFU......we go into these countries to occupy (build bases and stay there).  Why dont you watch Charlie Wilsons war for a little perspective.  If we "occupy" and build schools and infrastructure, build communities without the military the Taliban wouldnt exist.

very logical.  But I dont think they need to 25th him since he isnt running anything.  He is a puppet right now.

The only political reason they would is to give Kamala some credibility so when she runs as POTUS she can say that she had experience.  But she only got 1.5% of the Dem primary votes so I doubt she even comes close.

She becomes President, and after societal upheaval (not due to her becoming President, just the way society is likely headed) elections are canceled and she's a young puppet that can be "in charge" for a long time. Book it.

Lol, I can believe the "use the old guy to take the fall for a situation that was going to be pure shit no matter what" post where Joe gets replaced by Harris as a possibility. Maybe not the most likely scenario, but something that at least is, as you said, above zero point zero. This, nah. In the primary, Harris had popularity numbers that were more in line with the Kucinichs of the party than someone they'd want to build around and seems like her current popularity rating is in the gutter compared to the average VP. Try to pull this off and we're talking legit Civil War material where coups and assassinations are more likely than anyone being in charge (or "in charge") for a long time.
