biden isn’t golfing so it’s ok

I saw a rumor that he was golfing a week or so ago. I would actually pay to see him swing a golf club.

At least he probably takes his correct score

I’m really just glad there aren’t any more mean tweets. Would hate to be triggered on a daily basis. Is there gonna be a statement on Afghanistan or is there no wifi on vacation?

It's funny watching the media TRY to regain a little credibility asking the occasional tough question...but you see how much it pains them to do so.

I've also noticed a few of the Fox reporters have taken the mantle over from CNN asking bullshit gotcha questions.  LOL, Trump moving those pressers to the helicopter was the smartest thing he did.

The Taliban is now inside Kabul.  Chinooks ferrying people out.

I don't like Biden at all. But I'm glad he's cutting bait.  I know he's not doing it as some sort of visionary, but probably to appease the most progressive of his party. Not an admirable stance.

But nonetheless we shouldn't be there in any capacity. Our presence didn't make us safer or better. It just risked a lot of American lives. Someone had to cut the umbilical cord. The war was lost the minute it was started. George Bush has this on him.

So just let a terrorist state breed more tyranny and terrorists.

I think that might be highly debatable.  Bin Laden and Al Qaeda had free reign to train and plot.  Our invasion crippled him and his organization, while also drawing fighters to us over there.

Agree we should have probably withdrawn 10 years ago after Bin Laden was killed (yes, in Pakistan I know).

Iraq was the much more questionable war.  But oddly enough I think they are doing reasonably well (in comparison to the rest of the ME)?

Videos of the people falling off planes leaving Kabul are pretty fucked up.

It's horrible. I'd hate to have been one of the pilots.

Going to be an interesting speech from Biden.  Not sure how you're going to spin "Afghani forces folded like a cardboard tent".

Have Biden or Psaki commented on Afghanistan yet? Seems to be silence from the White House.

I think I saw where Biden is going to comment later today.

Apparently, it's relatively normal for Admin officials to take vacation in August when Congress is in recess.

Looking forward to Psaki's next presser.  I'd imagine she'll finally completely lose it and be replaced within a week.

I think one could say that our presence must not have been doing much to stop the breeding of terrorists if the Taliban, an organization considered to be terrorists, could immediately take over an entire country the instant we started to leave.

One could also say that the Afghans, a people whose country has been essentially owned by the Soviets, the Taliban or us over most/all of my life, don't have the mentality to be independent and withstand other forces simply because being under someone else's thumb is all they've known.

Considering that Trump and his supporters wanted us out of there by May 1 and had brokered a cease-fire deal with the Taliban, one also could say this was inevitable -- with the only real surprise being just how quick it happened. Unless you want to live in a delusional world where a force that doesn't like us and that we've been in conflict with is soooo full of reverence and awe for one person that they had no intentions of going back on any agreements as long as he was in power.

Probably never should have been there as an occupying force. But because we were, that only left two real choices: Stay there for eternity, spending obscene amounts of money and keeping our soldiers at risk permanently OR get out and watch it all crumble down.

1.  Our administration pulled out of here in a completely wrong way.

2.  If the Afghan army doesnt want to fight then thats on them but 40 year generals should have known this.

3.  This will lead to a terrorist state.

4.  The white house on vacation while Americans are trying to get out of a foreign country that just fell to a terrorist group is not good.
