Senate is now in recess as the protests have reached the steps of the Capitol.

This is so fucking predicable......

Way to go Republican Party, which embraced Trump and helped fuel these fucking idiots.

Nice speech by McConnell...it should have been in November. Ted Cruz is the worst as well.

I thought Trump was able about law and order? If he is, he would call his supporters to you know...not overrun the Capital Police?

I think the entire Republican Party is responsible for this now. This was a quote from one Republican shortly after the election. It as proven way wrong.  They have allowed Trump and his fucking idiots to go this far.

So peaceful protests are not allowed - today only.

Sounds fair.

There were no protestors raising hell at the steps of the Supreme Court a few months ago ............that was just a mirage.

The hypocrisy is immeasurable.

Those guys did not literally storm the Court or Congress. You have no idea what you are talking about as usual.

They breached the Capitol. Congress in recess. People inside told to shelter in place.

These are your people.

I was told all protesting is peaceful unless someone dies. And even then I was told they were “mostly” peaceful. Especially if it was only businesses being burnt down.

Pretty bad precedent to set.

Glad I think both groups should be treated equally, with force.

I mean, as long as they get the same riot cops, tear gassing and arrests that those other "peaceful protesters" got, I'm not overly concerned. I will be amused when reading you and CC trying to justify right-wing Antifa-esque stuff after multiple months of playing up any scare tactic possible about the actual Antifa.

Sure, I mean if you want to say whatever the fuck the left does is bad, you have to equally apply it to this now.

I already said to use force. And not just tear gas. Rubber bullets and batons. I don't know why they let any of these people get away this stupid shit.

Agreed. You know what would also have been nice? Republicans stopping this at the source and not letting Trump string this along. They allowed this to grow.

That speech from McConnell was great...he should have made it after the election and the whole party should have told Trump to shut the fuck up and tell his supporters to accept the loss. Instead, they were chickens and let this grow.

I don’t disagree. Do I blame people for keeping quiet individually, afraid to lose their career opposing Trump? No. But they as a group should have done something.

What a shit security plan they had today.

But what if they declare it an autonomous zone?

I'm shocked actually they have not resulted to more tear gas or clearing like what happened over the summer in Lafayette Square for the infamous Trump Bible photo. But, apparently, the DC National Guard is on the way now to the Capitol.

Laugh at them and clear like they should have done in Portland?
