I just finished reading this entire thread, I have to be honest I think I understand most of the issue at hand, but things to me are still a little fuzzy...
I hope all works out well for these boys and they do get to wrestle. just a couple of observations from an outsider, this is not meant to state I support either side, rather that justice would be served, if that's allowing these boys to wrestle then let it be, if the parents were in violation of OSHAA's residency compliance rules then let it be. (I think this was the orginal issue at hand)

1. I am curious why these boys were present during the leagal hearing, was this required? It sounds like that event was a very emotional intense meeting that teenagers should not have attended, leave it to the adults to work it out. (If I miss read and they were not, my apologies)

2. Was the family living in the home inside school disctrict where they were wrestling? Or were they staying and the now commercial office/training center in the Tuslaw SD? I have to admit, I am still confused about this and after reading every post, I'm still unsure. Sounds like the Waynesville residence was the home official home of residence. Was the family because mom and dad were working late into the evening staying at the old residence (I personally don't see a problem with this, if this is the case, this is truley cutting hairs).

3. It's evident there are much deeper issues in this matter besides a residency dispute.

4. Right or wrong, OSHAA should not have to take 2 - 3 weeks to decide this issue.

Just my take from an outsider, I hope justice is served whatever that may be... I'm confused....

I cannot promise though that it always will be, but for now all is ok.

My wife and I are stunned!!!!!!! We set up a appointment immediately with the AD! He is shocked! He says Dean I told him to take care of it I swear I know nothing about their rehiring!! I will Call the head coach in immediately and deal with him sternly! my wife sobbed in that meeting and ask why the administration keeps putting us in the middle of major safety issues and makes us look like the bad guy. He was extremely apologetic and reassuring that after 7 months from this travesty he would finally take firm action. The coach calls me on my birthday 2 days later, tells me, no one tells me how to handle my coaches. No one goes over my head. I will not tolerate whistle blowers Your fired and I don't want the Olympic coach here any more no more Bobby Douglas nobody fro Team Nelson will ever step into my room again. You only bring these guys in to demean me ,Schools already started your boys will be taken care of there is nothing you can do to move them out now! My night mare began. The Tuslaw Superintendent was tore up. He really is a good guy. He tried so hard to get his coach to do what is right. He told me he was trying to personally mentor him. The coaches Mom is on the school Board. Superintendents are scared to death of lawsuits with Coaches especially after the perry case. The coach has Tenure. He felt terrible and frustrated for the twins swore he would do what ever he could do to transfer to another school. He told me there was no way they would be safe in that room now . He was teary eyed when he spoke and I trust he was very sincere. I let him know I was not out for vengeance if he could just help the twins transfer we would just walk away! He called the OHSAA and told them he had a extreme safety issue case! These athletes had to be allowed to transfer or they would have to quit and they have done nothing wrong and are model students....... The OHSAA told the Super that if they move for saftey reasons they are automatically ineligible thats the new rule! They have the option to quit and avoid the safety issue.. Has OUR SYSTEM GONE MAD!!!!!!!!!!

But yeah, I would agree with Fab that I'm confused by a lot of this. Not only does the seeming disdain for the parent/OP surprise me but some of the claims involved are strange as well. I'm not involved in the situation so I don't know anything other than that I feel bad that the kids are maybe going to have to miss out on wrestling this year in the tournaments.

I hate that thread has come down to the boys being punished or how good they are or anything else concerning these young men. Wasn't this about some over zealous parents thinking the poster was not abiding by the OSHAA residency guidelines? Ok I have to comment..I have been reading what I thought was a thread about boys not getting to wrestle ....and now it has turned intosome sort of Drama.......and not a good one at that. First of all.......I am sorry these boys are unable to wrestle because of careless mistakes made by adults in control. I am talking about the Father and the OHSAA. I think mistakes have definately been made on both parts. Secondly .....I know alllllllllll about eligibility issues. My family moved from one school district to another for wrestling last year. We completed each and every task in a very short time that was required by the OHSAA to insure that our son would be eligible. I would have never taken a chance or assumed that because I had a phone conference with .....how ever many people....and they said....the twins are eligible even though you are not complying with everything that is written out in black and white without receiving a written ammendment to the rules stating such. I believe there are some issues here that have not been laid out on the table... so to speak. First off....in one of the articles I read it was stated your wife had not changed her drivers license because it was going to expire in about a month.........that should have been done before they were eligible to wrestle....yours alone would not be good enough........unless of course you have SOLE custody of your children as was stated on your form (your info) and....the only way a person has SOLE custody is if they are divorced and awarded sole custody or custody is awarded to another party through the legal system. Both parents must have their drivers licensed changed and their voter registration transferred to the new county your reside in.
There is also a certain percentage of time that must be spent at the residence located in your school district. Rules are in place for reasons..... and noo they do not make it easy for people to transfer schools for sports related reasons. But....if you are going to do it..........you need to make sure you have crossed every T and dotted every i. Its all there in black and white. We did it all by the rules. You can not maintain a home anywhere other then the county your child is attending school in........if you still had children going to Tuslow (which is unclear but sounds like it according to your comments on how your other children are being treated by Tuslow residents) you must be maintaining some sort of homestead there. They can not bend the rules for every different circumstance that comes along....or whats the point in having rules. Also..........for the safety of your wife and other children.........if they are being stalked and your children being bullied and beaten up ..........it is high time you call the police and put some of that tax payer money to use. Again.......I hope your boys get to wrestle.....and your family is safe. ......A bit of advice that can go a long long way....ALways- Always get it in writing.

Low, good post but it's Tuslaw, not Tuslow. Where are you from u dont know that. This is like a car crash that people keep looking at driving by. At every stone fork in this crazy road, Mr. Nelson has 1000 word explanation of what it really means. geesh. What's next, holy cow. Hope everyone remains calm as possible. Will be very interesting to see what courts / OHSAA decide.

Hummm Well I for sure am not from anywhere near.........Tuslaw....Tuslow........or Waynedale. LOL But for those boys sake.....I would like to see this mess cleaned up so they are able to wrestle.........its not their fault.

Why would I have more to say? And what do you mean high perch worried? If you mean am I involved with the OHSAA or the other coaches then no. I'm a student at YSU, I don't know anything about the Nelson family or the school districts/coaches involved except that Mr. Nelson's sons are quality wrestlers as I've seen there names on several rankings and they've had good results.

I would not expect posts to be censored or closed here. It really isn't how this place works.

I was asked what was the safety and welfare issue, I gave the facts with out any names. It is accurate. It is on file at the school. The Superintendent at Tuslaw was very worried. Hate me . Kill the messenger. Now you know why they wanted the thread Killed. I will close with a question. If true..Are you OK with this kind of behavior from School officials? Do you think this is a quality program? Is this what you want for tour child ? Should parents have any say in a safety or welfare situation or should a coachs association? In my case do you believe my sons were treated fairly? Take me out of the equation. Was this except able to you? If your answer is yes, don't have kids. i If no should you act on this and expose it ? Which came first the Saftey and welfare or the eligibility issue? One simple change at OHSAA would fix this.........Let two highly educated Superintendents who know the situation at the ground floor level have their rights back that the OHSAA took away from them last year for the 1st time in OHIO HISTORY. OHSAA don't strip our highly Paid superintendents from PROTECTING OUR CHILDREN!!!!! It seems like over whelming COMMON SENSE!!!!! Again COMMON SENSE! Don't make Parents professional Lawyers with hundreds of booby traps to simply protect their child in extreme circumstances!! A little compassion and again COMMON SENSE PLEASE!!!!!

Some times the truth can save you but it keeps locked up in box. The darkness hates the light and will do everything it can to hide and discredit the light. When the light is finally out the darkness scatters and can not be found. It appears that those supporting the darkness have done that on this forum. Justice will be served. 30 matches lost, records not broken but life is not fair. Darkness does get its licks in.

without bursting any bubbles, the OHSAA does not over-turn rulings very often. Read their meeting minutes. You will notice this exact same situation many times with all ending appeal denied.
