What position does McCutch play? If it's CF they may stand pat with the way Allen is playing. I'm sure they could be moved around though.
He is a CF who has shifted to RF cause he can’t run anymore. I very much prefer Cutch over Donaldson at this point. And the fact Tito won’t ever move Kipnis means that is likely a dead option anyway.

He was until the beginning of last year, when he was moved to right field and Starling Marte was moved to CF. Then Marte got popped for PEDs so he went back to center for the rest of the year. But when he signed with SF this year, he was moved back to right. His range is not CF-caliber at this point of his career.
If you have the opportunity to get Mccutch off waivers, you fucking do it. I know he is not a MVP anymore, but that is a seasoned bat that could easily help the lineup. Also picking him up prevents any other playoff team from picking him up.

If I have any criticism of Tito at all, it's this...after Kipnis' dismal season at the plate and his inconsistency in the field (eg last night's debacle in the 9th), you'd think he'd at least sit him for few games and let Gonzalez get some AB's--he sure couldn't be any worse!

Apparently not, he cleared, which means no one wanted to pay the $3M left on his contract for the rest of the year and took the chance that no one else wanted to pay it. Now SF will have to eat some of the salary if they want to trade him.
