This was amazing news. They were 100% trying to trade, but glad they didnt cave to a bad offer and instead just locked him up.

I don't think Zimmer was ever going to be a factor here. But man, he was pretty damn good to end last season the last few months. Would've liked to see him get an extended look to start this year. The exit velocity and launch angle really peaked to an elite level after a minor swing change.
