I can remember opposing student sections taunting Kerr when he was in college. In today's world, it is hard to believe that happened.

I had to look this up. Pretty shitty.

I was also surprised the amount of debate there is whether he pushed off on his last shot but it just barely touches on Miller body checking him out of the way to get off his game winner.

Reggie was more of a foul than MJ, but I honestly am not sure either of them were fouls in the NBA at that point (and maybe not even now). If you watch the Reggie play with Jordan, he pushes, but only after Jordan kinda steps into his way. If Reggie had tried to run straight to top of the key, that would've become a foul on MJ. Jordan is Jordan, but Reggie was All-NBA, so neither was likely getting a call there.

It’d be interesting to see that play happen in the NBA now but substitute Harden for Jordan. Where would he flop back to? Half court? Other side of the court? Locker room?

Anyone can say that.

18 hours later?

Sure. MJ wasn’t exactly drinking a 6-pack and heading to bed. Prob drank himself to a near alcohol poisoning and made up the story about the pizza/flu.

Just don’t see the purpose of lying when everything else was covered and discussed. Maybe Delores was lying about stuff she said too.

Episodes 9-10 were excellent. MJ had some of the best footwork I’ve ever seen. Actually, I think the two best I’ve ever seen went 1 and 3 in the same damn draft.

  2. Jordan

When do we get episode 11?  All the footage that was left out?

His kids being in it for the amount of time they were was odd.

Virtually ZERO family stuff. Which is not surprising, because he has been a pretty absent father and a shit husband. But really odd that he went so in depth with him and his dads relationship when his has been a virtual opposite.

Chuck Klosterman made a good point about how Jordan grew up with a loving family who went to all his games. For all intents and purposes, a "normal" American family from NC. He believes this is what allowed Jordan to have a mean streak and fuck anyone attitude which translated so well to crunch time and winning titles. Whereas LeBron had an awful childhood and because of that refuses to let his family go down the same way. Which has translated to his more passive approach to titles (not that he isnt competitive and wants to win), and why he is so much more friendly to the young guys and his peers on other teams. He isnt willing to sacrifice that part of life for basketball.

Thought that was interesting, and if nothing else, something to ponder for a minute and a half today lol

Did you hear Simmons podcast from today where his buddy House had a pretty good theory on the pizza? This apparently was online but they ordered the pizza, two guys working at the Pizza Hut thought it could have belonged to the Bulls. The two of them delivered it (debunking what Grover said about five) and Jordan spit on it - I guess so no one else would want any? But Jordan had been smoking cigars so his spit may have poisoned the pizza because of all the shit you inhale from cigars. So he ends up poisoning himself.

Uummmm no.  You chain smoke cigars and your own spit makes you deathly ill...not buying that

Only way would be something that does damage to the stomach that ordinarily wouldn't have gotten there. Like the tobacco. But I don't see enough making him sick like that. Plus the dude chewed cigars as well.

Does this Doc. put to rest the GOAT conversation with LJ?

What Jordan had to do to pull his team mates along year after year....how much he wanted to win at any cost?  The stats he put up when everyone knew he was getting the ball?

I agree with most of that. I also think that MJ benefited from going to UNC and learning from Dean Smith for 3 years. MJ was loyal to his coaches and learned from them to benefit the team.

No.  MJ has the better legacy, LBJ is the better overall basketball player.
