No, it was missing two straight FTs costing Houston the game on the buzzer trey!
He even did the splits to try to draw 3 FTs in case he missed.
Awful
Should have guarded the inbounds pass to make the throw in more difficult. Other than that, not much you can do when someone makes a shot like that.
The problem was missing two FTs that could have iced the game. Or the 5 calls that went against them down the stretch.

Between the iconic Duke/KYU game and this....will anyone ever not do this again? It seems like a really easy choice, even for hacks who only played intramurals.
And he was fouled - so glad UM pulled it out.

this right here--you HAVE to make free throws down the stretch, or you lose...period.

He was 9/10 before clanking those 2

I don’t care if he was 10/10–he missed those 2, and like I said, if you don’t MAKE free throws in crunch time, you lose...and they did.
Feel for Devin Davis. Got run over by a drunk teammate at Indiana and was in a coma for days. Shocked he ever played again, let alone at this level. Sucks this loss will stick with him forever now.
That said, what a great play! That was really well drawn up. Poole WAS NOT fouled, but didn’t matter since he was pure on the shot.
Guy on the inbounder is smart, IMO, but to be honest doesn’t really matter. This Edny, Scottie Reynolds...etc. Teams make plays with or without it. Just credit Michigan for a great play and Poole with a great shot. The defense can’t get much better.
The referee before this, since a few were asking, walked up to Davis after he had a lane violation on his first of 2 FTs. Basically said if you do it in the second, I have to call it.

Thanks...I think you took it the wrong way. I wasn’t defending his overall ft performance on the day...I was just showing he was nails all day going 9/10 but then let the pressure get to him.
