What is your favorite Christmas song? What is your favorite full album?

I'm partial to the Bing Crosby White Christmas album. I also love the Nat King Cole The Christmas Song album.

My favorite song this year has been Christmas in Killarney from the Bing Crosby album.

Favorite song is probably O Holy Night. The chord progression on the chorus always get me. After that it is What child is this? and Carol of the Bells.

Favorite album is probably one of the Tran Siberian Orchestra ones or even Pentatonix. I usually just stream orchestra versions of the songs.

My favorite album is the Muppets Christmas with John Denver.  This is not a joke.  I watched the TV special when I was a kid and loved the songs.  It became our family's soundtrack for the holidays (played on Christmas morning).  Whenever I hear any of these traditional songs, it's this version I think of.

I can’t limit to just 1, but definitely have specific versions I like (and in turn dislike the same song by another artist)

Traditional Top-5:

  • Run Rudolph Run - Chuck Berry
  • Rocking’ Around the Christmas Tree - Brenda Lee
  • Blue Christmas - Elvis
  • Santa Claus is Comin’ to Town - Jackson 5
  • Please Come Home for Christmas - Eagles

Non-Traditional Top-5:

  • Merry Christmas From the Family - Dixie Chicks & Rosie O’Donnell
  • Christmas Can Can - Straight No Chaser
  • Who Spiked the Eggnog - Straight No Chaser
  • 12 Pains of Christmas - Bob Rivers
  • Snoopy vs The Red-Barron - The Royal Guardsman

Top Album I prefer the classic sound. Either Harry Connick Jr., Bing Crosby, Dean Martin or Frank Sinatra.

O Holy Night is certainly at or near the top of my list.

Great minds think alike.  Very hard to pick just one favorite, but I'll go with these for now.

Traditional:  "Jingo Jango" by Bert Kaempfert

Non-traditional:  (tie) "The Chipmunk Song" (Seville), and "Frontier Christmas" (Hudson & Landry)

Album:  "A Charlie Brown Christmas" by Vince Guaraldi.  Runner-up:  The 1965 Rudolph TV special soundtrack

P.S.  I still remember my father and I hearing "The 12 Pains of Christmas" on the radio for the first time.  Mom couldn't figure out why we were in tears.

I think it was last week when Carrie Underwood performed it on the Tonight Show..I had chills on the chorus.

I've always been partial to Bing Crosby Christmas music. White Christmas being at the top of the list. Love the song, and always try to watch the movie every year.

An album that I always go back to is Christmas Portrait by The Carpenters. (I know, I am old.)

One other note about Bing Crosby, every year I have to find this video and watch it. I remember seeing it on TV during his Christmas special.

Too many favorite Christmas songs to mention. I like Bing Crosby's White Christmas but I am partial to any Christmas song by Perry Como.

Besides the classics, I like instrumental songs, “Mary did you know”, and weirdly like the “Christmas Shoes” song.
