I just looked it up.  About 92,000 pounds of tea.  Present-day value of the damages is estimated to be north of $1MM.  That's certainly significant.

It may have been less public, but I think it's a more apt parallel than perhaps you were considering.

You can’t say that no one is hurt in these riots. 
You can’t say that the rioters are CLEANING UP AFTER THEMSELVES like the Sons of Liberty did.

I just want peace. People going out in large groups every day makes it much easier for the worst elements to blend in and do much damage. Going after innocent people isn't the best way to win people over. I'm upset at what happened with the officer in Minnesota, but he is being charged with murder. I'm not sure what else they can do to him.

You're treating the protestor like a monolith and, in doing so, have moved the goalposts (though probably not intentionally).

My initial comparison was in response to argument against the damage of private property, which is how you've even agreed that they are similar.

Comparing two things in a limited number of ways is neither invalidated by differences outside those ways nor contingent on linking them in those other ways.

This is taking place in a different era, too.  Would that also invalidate the comparison with regards to the destruction of property?

For the record, it's not difficult to find acts of violence on British civilians and sympathizers who never actually committed any acts against anyone, either.  The events leading up to the Revolutionary War involved more similarities to these events than you seem to want to admit.

I’m actually accusing Bundy of that...I’m not supporting the looting/rioting you dumb fuck. I’m of the belief that both the cops and the rioters are making bad decisions tonight. Bundy is ignoring what the cops are doing because he’s very clearly against BLM.
