The guys driving jacked up F150s with Don’t Tread On Me flags and rolling coal on Prius drivers are likely spending this much on gas. I can’t imagine most others are.

I drive a Ford Focus, in Chicago. I work from home, which obviously cuts down a lot of commute time. But I fill up once every 6-8 weeks typically. Throw in a few road trips to Ohio. I think I am getting gas -- on the very, very high side -- 20x a year. There is no way I am spending $2k on it. Not even half that.

The incremental cost is $2,200 (not $3,200 used in my calc., so more like 3-4%)
I see, so you "only" raised costs by about 31% to try to make your point. Would you call that a mere exaggeration or an outright lie?
i would say i spend about 40$ a week on gas which would be about 2k

It was a mistake; it should have been an extra $2,200, not $3,200. Regardless, most middle class folks don't have an extra $2,200 to spend on gas without major sacrifices elsewhere .......... needless sacrifices due to asinine energy policy.

Around $2800 this year in gas…but I have a 130 mile round trip, but do carpool.

can't roll coal with an F150.
You guys know why gas prices are up so much though right? it's a wild and interesting thing, and why the price of diesel is sky-rocketing is alarming.
Hint: there is a reason why the keystone pipeline happened despite Obama and Biden's rhetoric on climate and oil and gas impacts on the world.

It's such a big deal because our students need to be taught how to do things properly. Our English classes don't teach how to use proper slang. I'll go out on a ledge and assume that our math and financial classes teach students how to use money symbols correctly. My honest opinion, it makes people look stupid.
