Celebrating day 365 of 15 days to slow the spread at a bar. They don’t require masks even though Dewine does. Don’t tell SnL.

Basically, all Fauci said was "I strongly suspect this...but don't have the data to issue an official recommendation".  I really don't understand what's so objectionable about that.

Nothing. Spock just likes to whine.

Got together for my dads birthday today and had a picture taken of him and my sister. All three of us are fully vaccinated. My family has been very cautious with all of this, even to extents I haven’t always been a fan of. Just crazy to think exactly a year ago group pictures wouldn’t be happening for a long time.

What's going to happen when we have the true 1 in a 100 year pandemic?  Something that will be 10-20X as deadly as Covid and wipe out 10% of the global population.  It is a very real possibility, probably within the next 20 years, because we've seen that mortality with SARS and MERS already, and now the transmissability with Covid.

We've seen that these pseduo-lockdowns don't accomplish much.  At the same time, you can't shutdown basic services.  And in that scenario, how do you even keep the supply chains open?  Extreme preppers don't look so crazy any more...

Might as well just nuke China at that point.

I guess the statistics of science are hard for people to understand, i.e. Fauci.

Problem with stuff like this is that you can find another state with lots of strict COVID rules like California that is doing better than another one with relatively lax rules. This all seems anecdotal and I think it will probably be some time before it can definitively said what was the best course of action.

I doubt that you will find that.  California has locked down pretty hard.  But go ahead and try to find one.

I'm not defending California and I'm glad my state wasn't like that. I just think it's probably not accurate to judge the effectiveness of an approach this soon.

I'm seeing elsewhere that there are 20+ countries that have suspended use of the AZ vax.

Why?  I thought rushed experimental vaccinations would be just fine

I hear they have great government run healthcare over there.  It's free for all even when your government sics its dogs on you and beats you with clubs on the street.  Healthcare is a right you know.
