Concerts you attended for the opening act?

I'm going to see Nathaniel Rateliff & The Night Sweats with opening act Margo Price. I frankly had not heard of Rateliff so I went to YouTube and was not blown away (maybe they'll change my mind in person). I'm going to see Price, who I find to be awesome.

What concerts have you attended primarily to see an opening act rather than the headliner? I went to a Willie Nelson concert to see Alison Krauss and Union Station. They were great, Willie was simply awful.

I went to a Brantley Gilbert concert to see Justin Moore opening. Moore was great, Gilbert sucked live.

Son of a bitch! Give me a drink...is a great song.

There have been a few festivals where I attended for the opening acts or middle acts.

I know I have but I can't think of the bands involved. It's been a while.

Probably 3/4 of the concerts I went to, the warmup act wouldn’t be named at the time I bought a ticket.  Wouldn’t  find out until the night of the show.

Years ago me and a friend drove to some crappy joint in Pittsburgh to see the Runaways open for the Ramones. Lita Ford was the attraction.

Saw Iron Maiden open for Scorpions. Was big into Iron Maiden this was when number of the beast had just came out and I was talking them up to my friends and was saying that they would blow the Scorpions off the stage. I was RIGHT.

One month later they opened for Judas Priest and did the same thing.

Up the Irons.  They put on a first rate concert.  I love Judas Priest, but Maiden is my favorite metal band for certain.

I bet they blew the Scorpions away. I wouldn't want to follow Bruce and the boys.

Yes they did. I spent the entire Scorpions set rubbing it into my friends. the crowd seemed to know it too as they were lukewarm to the Scorpions.

I like Judas Priest and they put on a good show but Iron Maiden still gave it to them.

I forget who the "main attraction" was but I went with a few college buddies to see a guy that we started listening to because Garth Brooks mentioned him in a song. His name was Chris Ledoux

Went to a Toad the Wet Sprocket concert more for the opener, hootie and the blowfish.

A year later Hootie was headlining Polaris. They hit it big time with their first album that was played into the ground.
