Like when the ATF murdered a bunch of women and children and then took pictures in front of the charred bodies?

I know, I know. There is probably some nuance that I am missing there.

Yeah, Waco and Ruby Ridge, were bad. But, there was also Oklahoma City, and the rise of right wing terrorism. Remember all the buzz about the Turner Diaries and neo-Nazi groups?

It is like we are going back to that time.

The FBI and DHS are really referring to groups like the Oath Keepers, Proud Boys, etc.

It's the "etc." that worries me. People seem to be quick to label anyone on the right, or anyone that voted for Trump as a terrorist. And given my strong anti-government stances I'm a little uncomfortable with where we're headed.

Fair. Very fair. I know I'm a little concerned about the talk of domestic terror bill something like the Patriot act.

I don't expect anything negative to happen to me, even if the odds aren't zero they are very, very small. But man the immediate ramp up in rhetoric has been something to behold.

Got a craving for pizza that is at a place in this small town next to the swamp.  Likely a bunch of Oath Keeper/Proud Boy/etc. types out there.  Thought about grabbing some tonight.  Their trucks are bigger than mine maybe I should just stay home.

There are already more than enough laws on the books to handle domestic issues.  No need for anymore.  History teaches us that these type of knee-jerk reactions end up being used by those with maliscious intent.

Well, for a year democrats in DC told the public to go out and get in people's faces, to chase them down, surround them and "make them uncomfortable". They said that antifa was imaginary, people were rioting for bread and that it was their 1st amendment right to express how they felt about their oppression.
In return there was billions of dollars of damage and 30+ people dead.

So when some right wing idiots took them up on it and made democrats in DC uncomfortable - they all shit their pants.

Now those same democrats in DC are calling for republicans to be doxxed, turned in, lose their jobs, calling on Apple and Google to censore them from all medias and prison time. They're making the call for republicans in general to be labeled as extremists in order to be targeted.

There is no nuance at play here. It's the very worst kind of ideological hypocrisy and it's appalling.

And you're just "a little concerned", Ptown?

First thing I thought.

I'm not pleased that we have all of these old people in positions of power (Biden, Pelosi, Schumar, etc) and that's been a problem for awhile.  It seems like there's always a collection of geriatrics in the Congress.  Our last presidential election offered us two guys older than 75.  Not good for bringing new perspectives.

But if this video is your threshold for Joe needing assisted living, then you should add every president we've ever had to your list.  They all do stuff like this and some do it often.  I think Biden it too old for the office.  But your argument (well, the argument you're repeating from your usual suspects of daily talking point sources) that he's in late stage dementia is not very solid.

But hey, I know you're an open-minded guy and you'll consider other points of view.

He is not in "late stage dementia", I don't believe; but he has early onset, at a minimum.  He will not be doing any real press conferences.

Not sure what the details are here, but seems like maybe lowering the threshold for eligibility from $75k to something lower?

It was already a massively awful deal for taxpayers. $1.9t/330m is almost $6k per person. Not per adult. Not per taxpayer. Per person.

I think it moves the "phase out limits". So it starts at $75k, but ends at $80k. Joint filers start at $150k but phased out by $160k. No idea what the original phase out limits were. But yea, the bill is trash.

It's disgusting .........about 9% of the $1.9 trillion can be  construed as true covid relief; the rest is a gift to poorly managed blue states and other left-wing causes.
