I hear ya.

I have no idea who that idiot is, but I hope she and her ilk keep spewing their hate; they sound exactly like the utter fools they are.

My post meant nothing but the question asked. I have no idea who she is.

The female co lead in the show the crown is suing because her male coworker made more money than her. I’m confused, you can sue because someone makes more money than you? Can anyone sue anyone for making less money? Can a man sue for a woman making more money than him?

shoukdnt she just be mad at her agency for poor negotiating?

Just a look at their respective wiki's tells you that Matt Smith is the more prolific and well-known actor over Claire Foy. So, why he gets paid more is not only understandable, but reasonable. He's also gotten many more awards and nominations than her, so that's also a thing.

Even with nuances, this is unjust. The left wants to espouse "equal pay for equal work" but this clearly isn't the actual case. What they REALLY want is equal pay for unequal careers.

Which all comes back to their belief in equal outcomes, and NOT equal opportunities.  Like when the Southwest pilot was a woman, dumbass CNN was like but only 9% of pilots are women, this is a problem. BC women don't choose Piloting as a career morons not because it is an old boys club.

Well said. For the intersectional left women being paid less than men is always and everywhere a consequence of the historical and present oppression from the patriarchy. That's what it comes down to. There can be no liberty of contract in this world because there is no real liberty after all since we're all inevitably shacked by the invisible knapsacks of oppression.

I'm actually pleased to see that there are still lefties out there who don't buy into cultural marxism and everything that comes with it: intersectionality, critical theory,  oppressive patriarchy, toxic masculinity, etc.

I just watched the highlights of the media roast. I think she nailed some things and was way off on some other things. BUT

That voice. I ... hate... that fucking little girl voice that some women have. I would rather listen to Marge the 50 year smoker for all of my days rather than listen to that little girl voice for an hour. Not joking.

Ok, done with my rant lol

I thought the EXACT same thing.  Even if she had been hilarious, there's no way I could have listened to her for more than 30 seconds.  It's also distracting when people talk out the corner of their mouth.

If Trump had been there, he probably would have said "with a voice like that, you got a real future in nagging...believe me...this I tell you"

I didn't bother to research, but the above would have been my guess.  Usually the budget is pretty tight for a new series, and if she had tried to negotiate equal pay for the comparably lesser resume they probably would have gone a different direction.  That argument seems very defensible.  Now when they renew contracts, she probably has a strong case for equal pay.

To me it is antithetical to the tradition liberal/labor left. We used to argue that we had the liberty and power to bargain for a better life if workers would unite together. Why would a working woman ever want to unionize with the working man next to her when he is irredeemably relegated to the role of oppressor?

The same reason a dependable, hard-working man would unionize with his deadbeat co-worker?

This.  This is what bugged me.  I kept trying to put my finger on it, but it was this.

These dinners always have a somewhat crude roast-style comedy routine to them, so I didn't mind any of the content, but the delivery just seemed insufferable.

Now, I know why.

That, and it was just plain unfunny.  When you're going to be that offensive, you REALLY have to be funny.   It's painful watching someone bomb, especially when their material is crude personal attacks.

A perfect example of the sort of general acrimony toward humanity that pervades much of the conservative movement (e.g. Hugh Hewitt having to cut off callers talking about shooting the "caravan" border jumpers on sight") that I don't want to swallow the progressive movement. Sadly The intersectional left dials it up to eleven and there's no sign of it slowing down.

There were definitely a few uncomfortable pauses where I think she was expecting more laughter than she got.

Better to talk through laughter and have to repeat yourself than pause for laughter that doesn't come.

I'm as annoyed at the people whining about her as anyone, but truthfully, she really just wasn't funny and delivered it in such a way as to make it really obvious.

My response clearly sailed way over your head.  I've dealt with unions, and I have a perfectly good understanding why the best workers throw in instead of demanding a meritocracy.  And, well, the assumed advantages of collective bargaining are the fundamental basis for organizing.

Was just talking with someone about that. If true (who knows, she blames everything), that should scare every normal person in the country.

Well, her saying she herself is a capitalist is basically another lie in and of itself.  And obviously there are millions of democrats mislabeling themselves as a purposeful disguise.

Oscars org votes to expel Bill Cosby and Roman Polanski.  HAHA Let's not forget that Polanski was convicted in the 70s for raping a child he drugged, then becamse a fugitive of justice. Since then he was nominated 3 times (and won once) and received a standing ovation when he won. Hollywood so woke now though. Bunch of hypocrites who only pretend to care when it benefits them (don't forget people already defending Brokaw #metoo).

I got one this morning,

"‘Extremely offensive’: George Washington students launch petition to change Colonials nickname. They prefer ‘Hippos."

You have got to be kidding me?

“We, as students, faculty, and staff of the George Washington University, believe it is of great exigence that the university changes the official nickname for its affiliates. The use of ‘Colonials,’ no matter how innocent the intention, is received as extremely offensive by not only affiliates of the university, but the nation and world at large. The historically, negatively charged figure of Colonials has too deep a connection to colonization and glorifies the act of systemic oppression.”

LOL. What a crock full of shit. Learn some U.S. history at GW kid.
