posted by iclfan2They keep pretending he said he didn't drink a lot, which is categorically not true. They also don't know the difference between blacking out or passing out. I'm just waiting for them to claim a week wasn't long enough, even though it was their own idea. Swetnick looked like a complete moron. Hope McConnel finally sticks to his guns and they vote on Friday. Flake can then vote yes and not be afraid of his dem friends.
Waiting? They already did this in less tahn 24 hours from the annoucement of the investigation

Yep, not many envisioned Fox News or the plethora of other middle-of-the-road media outlets coming to the fore over the last 20 years, after the major media abdicated their duty and went off on their liberal promotion tour.
posted by like_thatAlso I see we have moved from rape allegations to throwing ice at a bar fight allegations. You can't make this shit up.
He threw ice cubes; he should have to sit in the corner for at least 30 minutes.

My bolding, obviously.
Look, you'll hear no disagreement from me with regard to how biased and partisan the outlets like CNN and MSNBC have gotten. They're garbage.
But let's not pretend that Fox News is anywhere near the middle of the road. It's the counterbalance to the above outlets on the opposite end, for better or worse.

Ehhh, depends on how one judges Fox News. If you base it off Hannity or that clown that replaced O'Reilly, it's really bad. Bolling would have been good if he hadn't gotten fired.
If you watch their straight journalists like Baier, Shepard Smith, Cavuto or Chris Wallace....those guys are about as good as anyone out there.
So today, white poweder sent to Pentagon and Ted Cruz office, Maryland rep hurts his hand after lefty loons try to push through. But tell me more about the rights' violent rhetoric that results in so many problems. Left forgets about the Bernie Bro and Scalise pretty quickly.

Inb4 Boogie comes in to tell you it's goes both ways.
If RBG kicks the bucket, we might have damn near a civil war over that SCOTUS pick.
And Breyer is 80, so the Dems are sweating. If Dems take the WH and Senate in 2020, expect both of them to retire.

Yeah, no shit. I could also see Clarence retiring for Trump to replace him.

I wrote it just for you.
Threats not only against elected officials but restaurant owners and employees as well. What a loving, tolerant group of diverse individuals on the left. And then today we have white powdery substances showing up in Cruz’s office in TX.

Well, you get that sort of thing on most stations. The strictly-news segments are usually not awful (with some outlier stories among all of them, I'm sure). It's the perspective pieces that parade themselves as journalism that provide the weight for heavy slants.
As for Bolling, if I recall correctly, he's a birther, isn't he?
All in all, if you compare Fox's standard news shows to the talking heads at the others (Rachel Maddow, I'm looking at you), naturally it's going to look better. But if you compare CNN's standard news shows with the Megyn Kelly or Hannity, you're going to get the reverse.

I agree with the bolded, however his main point still stands. Fox News is a byproduct of the biased MSM.

I think most of the media outlets are a result of the ever-polarized voting public, motivated by the politicians that have become so extreme in their condemnation of anything that isn't aligned with their own position(s).

I don't know. I wouldn't think so because he was normally a pretty level-headed libertarian type.
Anyway, NYT reporting on Trump tax schemes, going back to his parents when he was 3 years old. They apparently are accusing him of fraud. This is what I always expected to come of the Mueller investigation, although tax charges are defensible and a far cry from what I expected to be illegal dealings with the mobs and bribes in foreign countries.
For the uber-rich, tax shelters are usually employed with the aid of IRS tax opinions/guidance and set-up by sophisticated tax attorneys. The IRS on occasion rules against these (a.k.a "closes loopholes"), and levies penalties and fines. Very rarely does jail time result, and the taxpayer has ultimate responsibility but you can certainly hide behind following the advice of counsel.
Long story short, this is most likely not "fraud" or "conspiracy" or "evasion" or whatever other scandalous characterization NYT is using....but it will kick-off another giant shit storm of a debate. We'd have to see what this story is all about, but I'm not sure it would be impeachable. IMO, dealing with the mobs and foreign bribes IS impeachable (not saying that's the accusation, just that I'm certain Trump is guilty of it), but tax shelters employed by many of the super rich not so much.

Just to clarify, you think Trump IS guilty of collusion (being a puppet of Russia, perhaps)?

Cool, that still doesn't change his point...
Funny how CNN has Kavenaugh story at #5 on website. And that is about his friend getting in a bar fight.
