Frank Kaminsky: "NBA looks boring"
Cool ESPN article about Wisconsin's 7-foot wonder and his thoughts on the college game versus playing at the next level. Excerpt from Big Game Frank:

Pumped for the season to start. Really glad that Duke drew Wisconsin in Madison for the ACC-Big Ten Challenge. It will prove the ultimate challenge for Jah Okafor to go up against arguably the game's best center in early December.I am at the pinnacle of my basketball playing career, at least in my eyes. I know the NBA has their crazy fans and all, but if you look at all of their games, there are games when teams like the Bobcats get hardly any fans, and it looks flat out boring

Thus far, confirmed.
Duke at Wisconsin
Ohio State at Louisville
Syracuse at Michigan
Iowa at North Carolina
Virginia at Maryland (LOL, who cares)

Not a fan of someone saying that. You, in theory, will be spending the next 10+ years of your life there and making money family members you will never meet will be living off of. Why call that entity out as "flat out boring."?reclegend22;1611803 wrote:Frank Kaminsky: "NBA looks boring"

I just think it's cool that a player of Kaminsky's magnitude said what many of us already think. I'll speak for myself, at least.
There was a time when I wouldn't have believed that, but I do now.

Both sports involve many of the same things. A 94-foot court, an orange round ball, 5 on 5 with 3 refs and are played in an arena. After that, they are completely different.
Who knew, a college atmosphere was different than a professional one? Thanks for pointing out the obvious, Frank.

I will say the NBA game isn't horrible and I think if the NCAA adopted the 24 second clock it'd make the game much better instead of calling everything under the sun

I'd like to see the NCAA go to a 30-second shot clock and not allow the 10-second rule to be bypassed with a timeout. Also, eliminate the charge by a help defender. Those 3 things would make it even better.

Definitely agree with you on the shot clock being reduced. Needs to be lowered to AT LEAST 30. With that being changed then also change the backcourt violation to 8 seconds.Azubuike24;1612644 wrote:I'd like to see the NCAA go to a 30-second shot clock and not allow the 10-second rule to be bypassed with a timeout. But what is your reasoning behind eliminating charges being taken by a help side defender? What if you are Syracuse or a team that plays zone? Who is the guy that is actually guarding the ball? This rule won't happen.

The timeout/out of bounds/whatever resetting the 10 second violation is the dumbest thing in basketball lol.
I see no reason to change the charge call.
Shot clock needs to be a natural progress. 35 in HS, 30 in college and 24 in pros.

Refs can't accurately call it. If a M2M defender wants to take a charge, fine. It's dogshit defense to have the help defender slide under guys driving or even going up for a shot. While the correct call is made often times if the defender isn't set, it's a somewhat cheap play.

If they are sliding under a guy then it's a block. Yes refs will miss some but overall going forward I think we will see more block calls than charges. Especially with this past year being the inaugural year of the new rule. Takes some adjustment.
No reason to penalize good help side defense. A good offensive player/team will make the extra pass.

It depends. I'd rather see the NCAA showcase the best players. I'd rather see the Aaron Craft's of the world rewarded for great defense than many, many others unable to go M2M also rewarded for always taking off-ball charges.

Rumors are starting to make their way around that Roy is a candidate for the Lakers job. As much as I would love Roy to coach my NBA team, it's not happening. There is no way Roy leaves Carolina for ANY job.

It's sad that after numerous times stating he's not interested, a coach has to go on Twitter within minutes of the coach resigning to state yet again, he's not interested in the Lakers job. Even after that, the mainstream media still threw his name around...

Not sure why, but the thought of Roy Williams going to LA reminds me of Three 6 Mafia's Adventures in Hollywood. I can't even picture that happening and I agree that it won't. Roy just doesn't strike me as the right fit for that particular job -- or city -- at all.
Kevin Ollie, on the other hand, a lifelong NBA guy from California and with strong ties to Kevin Durant dating back to his days with the Thunder, makes a lot of sense. Many expect Durant to seriously entertain free agency in 2016 and bringing Ollie on board would not only give the Lakers a rising star in the profession but also a possible head start in the KD sweepstakes, especially if they play the draft right over the next couple of years.

I got that impression as well. Roy will probably collect a nice financial windfall as a result of the "interest". Smart move.wildcats20;1613289 wrote:It's basically just a fellow Tar Heel looking out for another.
