Sounds like McGary and GRIII are flip flopping. I'd bet they all go.

B.C. junior forward Ryan Anderson (14 points and 7 rebounds) will transfer. He's a versatile guy with the ability to play down low or step out and hit the three. Could be a huge off-season acquisition for somebody, though I don't believe he will be eligible to play immediately (unless there is some special circumstance for his departure). Early suiters are Indiana, Arizona, New Mexico, Washington, San Diego State and Iowa.
On a much less relevant note, Tyler Lewis transferring from N.C. State to Butler. Not a great guard in the ACC, but should do well going back to high school.

If a player wants out after a coaching change, especially a player that you did not have any part in recruiting, then let them out. What good comes from that?

Sampson will do whatever it takes to win. What he did at Indiana proves that. Look at the characters he had on the team (not even taking into consideration the illegal phone calls and texts). He overlooks drug use and academics to win. Maybe he will change since his time at IU, but more than likely he wont. The NBA was best for him, where there are no rules and its only basketball you have to worry about in regards to your teams personal life.

Sampson definitely seems like a better NBA fit in general, and his refusal to release these two players leaves one to wonder what lessons this guy learned the last time around about how to conduct himself in a manner of integrity. As you say, we aren't privy to the particulars, but come on, man. What the fuck is your problem.Laley23;1603859 wrote:I dont want to pass judgement without knowing...but...

I'm not sure why Thomas wouldn't just go to the NBA...
I'd rather take my chances as a future pro doing that than staying somewhere I don't want to be and playing for a coach who wouldn't let me leave.

He may end up there if he doesnt eventually get his release. They are both, from what I understand, going through the appeal process (or whatever it is called in these situations)...Azubuike24;1604112 wrote:I'm not sure why Thomas wouldn't just go to the NBA...

Nothing definitive yet, but Greg Marshall to Tennessee could soon become a big story.
Apparently Marshall interviewed for the job in 2001 and "desperately" wanted it at the time, according to a close contact in a Fansided article, before Tennessee went with Buzz Peterson. That was more than 10 years ago and prior to Marshall elevating Wichita State into a perennial Final Four contender, so his feelings toward the Vols job might have changed dramatically since then. Jason King of Bleacher Report seems to think that an offer of $3 million for five years is what it would take to close a deal. Not sure what he's basing that on other than $3 million a year being a lot of money to turn down.

Originally it was reported that Jabari would announce today, but that changed to Thursday or Friday a couple of days ago. He and Rodney have most likely been waiting until after the annual Duke banquet (which occurred tonight) to make their decisions public. My guess is that there will be a joint presser in the next couple of days explaining how hard the decision was to turn pro.Laley23;1605897 wrote:When the hell is this dude Parker announcing??
As a college basketball fan, it's great see that the decision has been so difficult for these guys -- the spirit of our game is still alive, if only barely -- but the right decision is to leave. No doubt about it, especially for Parker.

Lol, someone should have made that public. National media was waiting all day for it to break. Twitter was waiting, ESPN Radio kept reporting that it would happen today, etc.reclegend22;1605962 wrote:Originally it was reported that Jabari would announce today, but that changed to Thursday or Friday a couple of days ago. Even my Duke co-workers were freaked out that they couldnt find any information, and some of them live a mile away from him!! lol

Lol. Guess they should've checked out the Jabari Decision Thread on Duke's scout board. The moderators even updated the thread title to account for the change in announcement to Thursday or Friday, haha. I figured if there wasn't an announcement at the banquet that it would happen later in the week anyhow.Laley23;1605997 wrote:Lol, someone should have made that public. Shamberger transferring from Hawaii. He's a good pg with some head case issues. Had a few run ins during games with the coach.

Dan Patrick Show had it early yesterday morning that no Parker decision would be made. They were on top it.
Off topic, but does anyone listen to DP in the mornings? Great show/radio

I have to agree. M&M talk more about their book signings and talk show appearances than they do sports...they've gotten too 'commercialized', imo.SportsAndLady;1606066 wrote:I like their show. A lot better than mike and mike anymore.
