Toledo loses to Detroit tonight. Have had some a few chances for a nice win against Oregon and VCU and should have beaten Dayton, even though Juwan Howard Jr. is pretty good.

Hmm, looks like Butler just beat UNC. Unless they've overnight returned to their former Brad Steven prominence, that's making OSU's strength of schedule look even weaker, which I didn't think possible.

Same old story for UNC. Can't score. Got killed on the glass, which is why they lost. They have individual talent and athleticism, but I just don't see how they could win more than a few tough games in a row when you can't shoot and have scoring droughts.

They need to go back to their inside game days with Sean May/Branden Wright/Marvin Williams/Deon Thompson/etc. They have the skilled bigs (Kennedy Meeks and Isaiah Hicks and Brice Johnson). But the are too guard/wing oriented on offense.

Oklahoma trounced Butler. Butler couldn't hit anything when I was watching in the 2nd half.

While watching the game, it was clearly accidental. Brutal nonetheless.sportswizuhrd;1679039 wrote:Found video of the kick...

Wisconsin takes Atlantis. Easily Bo Ryan's best team, if not the best the Big Ten has seen this century. This is a really good ball club. That front line is just nasty. Not a better duo in the country than Sam Dekker and Big Game Frank.

Sam Dekker is not good lol. You overhype him every season.

Just found out a few days ago Cleveland is a sweet 16/elite 8 location. Anyone get tickets for it? Heard they sold out pretty quick.

I think dekker is overrated but a good player.
Think duke wins Wednesday. That's a lot of games early in the year then travel back to Madison.

I'll take Kaminsky, Dekker and Nigel Hayes over any front line in the country. While Dekker is not as talented as Kaminsky, he's certainly not "not good." Come on. Dekker's issue is consistency. He is just not assertive enough for a player of his caliber, making him seemingly disappear for long stretches. It also doesn't help that he's overshadowed by arguably the best pro prospect in the country at his same position.GOONx19;1679268 wrote:Sam Dekker is not good lol. You overhype him every season.
Nonetheless, that trio is going to be quite difficult to stop all at once this season, which makes Wisconsin incredibly dangerous.

Who is this announcer calling the Gonzaga-St. John's game? He makes Pam Ward sound like Vin Scully. He has managed to take any interest I had in this affair and sucked it right out of me.

Best team this century?
Only if you are talking 14 years back.

No, the play-by-play guy.wildcats20;1679283 wrote:Dan Dakich?
I actually enjoy Dakich sometimes, but he's definitely the opposite of polished. But that's all right. He does a nice job analyzing the game and he's humorous.
The lead guy tonight is flat-out uninteresting.

Agree to disagree. I could pull down 3.7 rebounds per game in D1 at 6'3''. In fact, there's 130 guards in basketball this year with at least 5.5 per game. Probably 130 more ahead of him, too, but none of the stat sites will go that low. And he's a far worse passer. He's an average player, which I'll give you, good teams need. But I won't call him good.reclegend22;1679280 wrote:While Dekker is not as talented as Kaminsky, he's certainly not "not good." Come on.

I'm with you. Sam Dekker and Wayne Selden are the 2 most overrated players in the country in my opinion.GOONx19;1679316 wrote:Agree to disagree. He may be overrated, but Dekker is not "not good." He's a good player.
Besides, my point from the beginning was that, as a group, Wisconsin has as good (and IMO the best) front line in college basketball. It was never that Sam Dekker is the country's best player. He's not even his own team's best player at his position.

Sam Dekker got a ton of hype because he was a 5-star, white guy who is an above-average athlete. Everyone just assumed he would be a typical Wisconsin white guy who is great with fundamentals, a great passer and lights out shooter. Truth is, Dekker would be in the NBA if he was good at those things.
He's a decent college player, but at this point in his career, he's been underwhelming and had NOT lived up to hype. He's the 2nd highest-rated recruit in Wisconsin history behind Brian Butch.
