You mean the scenarios that were immediately debunked by people with actual brains pointing out that he was basically lining up trades so one-sided that Cleveland's trading partners would have to be run by complete idiots looking to get fleeced?

Lol, that was great. The sort of thing that might have worked on older Madden NFL games, but hardly ever in real life.

I did think Hardesty was a good value at the time, and who knows what could have been had he been healthy. Guess health's a part of it though

I saw it then, and commented at how ridiculous it was and how the draft position value chart shows that he is way off base. I was just wondering if he had hatched a new plan for the "Breowns" to land both such players.

He was never healthy in college though which is what pissed me off. A 4 yr college rb with injury history? SURE 2nd round! Just a dumbass pick anyway you slice it IMO.

I was going to add exactly what you said, and use Beanie Wells as an analogy: once injury prone, always injury prone. We/Arizona thought Hardesty/Wells would overcome their issues and nope, wasted picks.

So what you're saying is, Watkins at 4.

I like Carr. Not at 4, could be talked in to 26, or maybe even moving back in after that pick, Giving up our 2nd and 5th, would probably let us move up into the 27-32 range.

Chill!! It's gonna be Manziel or defense. It will never be Carr at 4.

I had a dream the other night that we drafted Manziel and I woke up hoping it was real. So im on the JFF bandwagon. Cleveland needs a guy like him, I think he can be great. I love Hoyer but I don't want to get into preseason and be like fuck we should have drafted a qb early.

Long story about the Carr brothers but a good read. In the right situation I think he could thrive. Getting to learn about how Eli prepares and then seeing Hoyer and how he goes about the position after spending so much time with Brady could set him up for success. Just think if he's our guy we should address another need at #4 and get him later.

Browns signed both Young and Thigpen at the QB spot today.

Nice to see our options at QB in a make or break season will consist of a career back-up coming off an ACL tear and a bunch of bums that have no business even being in the league at this point.

The Browns and our fan base have the most irrational fear of drafting a QB high I have ever seen. Only one time since the return have we drafted a QB in the top 5 (our first year back).

There is this paralysis about possibly getting it wrong that we happily settle on guys later in the draft just so we don't have to go all in on a guy.

We're coming off more consecutive 10 loss seasons than you have fingers on one hand and yet much of the fan base has convinced themselves that we have other higher priorities in this draft than QB.

While most fan bases would be shitting their pants that their number one option is a career backup with less than handful of career starts and a torn ACL, in Cleveland it means you're set at the position and can focus elsewhere while eventually drafting another Brady Quinn type that falls.

We don't deserve Johnny Football. He would come into this city, light it on fire and tell the fan base to hop on his back while he leads us into Pittsburgh to kick some Steeler ass.

The team would finally have a swagger and identity, and guys would actually want to come here and play with him.

No, our fear of another 10 loss season because Johnny might not pan out will leave us passing on a potential franchise altering player. We have no culture on this team, Johnny Football through shear force of will immediately brings an identity to this squad with just his presence.

There will be GM's that pass on Johnny, and they will have irate owners wanting to know why the hell they passed on him when he is off turning around some other lowly franchise totally rejuvenating the product while lining the owners pocket through sky high jersey and merchandise sales.

I have watched so much bad/boring football in this city that drafting Johnny seems like a total no brainer. We immediately become compelling to watch, and there is not a chance that the games will be boring anymore with #2 under center.

Iggy and FW are SOOOO convinced that the Browns wont take JFF they have already essentially written off Pettine and Farmer. Its ridiculous. What will you say when JFF is the pick?

I almost wish they wouldn't pick him just so we can read the hilarious posts afterwards.

Why would someone think that signing a couple of free agents for a look-see would preclude them from selecting a QB in the draft? Happens all the time.
