That move just wouldn't make sense to me. Why would they draft a guy at 4 that will be there at 26? #BrownsLogic

Well it's Grossi, so I will take it with a grain of salt, but if this happens I think I will take OB's approach and take a year off from the Browns.IggyPride00;1610248 wrote:If this happens I will be sponsoring a shuttle bus to the 480 bridge for anyone interested. If Farmer even thinks about pulling that bullshit with Johnny Football on the board he will get what's coming to him when he's looking for another job in 2 years.
Carr is a born loser just like his brother and any team that drafts him will figure that out pretty quickly if they weren't smart enough to know it already before the draft.
Glad the NFL pushed the draft back 2 more weeks for a fucking concert so we can read extra BS speculation.

FYI, this doesn't sound like a guy that wants to draft Carr with the 4th pick. Even if it is smoke screen bullshit, why the hell would he talk about those guys, and then pick a guy he didn't even talk about and is projected to drop to #26. In fact people like Mcshay have Carr not going in the first round completely.

One more thing, remember when Grossi and Co said McDaniels was almost close to a for sure thing to be the Browns HC (two years in a row)?

As of right now, Farmer comes across as an imbecile. If they don't draft Manziel, then I will hang up my fanhood for this team permanently. Unlike last year, they have a great opportunity to fix the perennial train wreck. They either get it done, or they don't.IggyPride00;1610248 wrote:If this happens I will be sponsoring a shuttle bus to the 480 bridge for anyone interested. And I am far from the only one that feels this way. What's Farmer gonna do when only 60,000 people show up at the games?

I have not seen one person who is paid to cover these things that says farmer sounds like an imbecile. It's funny how footwedge has become this thread's biggest troll now that our resident trolls (tearnan, said failota, failhook, capone, etc) have been thread banned.

This was a Caplan report though. Grossi just retweeted what Caplan said. That gives it more credence than if Grossi heard it from "his sources".like_that;1610255 wrote:One more thing, remember when Grossi and Co said McDaniels was almost close to a for sure thing to be the Browns HC (two years in a row)?
But I refuse to believe it's not bullshit.

Well, there were also "legitimate" sources who said mcdaniels pretty much was going to be our HC. Thus the "co."Mulva;1610351 wrote:This was a Caplan report though. Grossi just retweeted what Caplan said. That gives it more credence than if Grossi heard it from "his sources".

I highly doubt Carr is the pick at 4....but if he is the pick...I'm assuming its because that's who they think is worthy of the 4th pick and that's enough for me.

After Wimbley, weeden, trich, momass, robiskie, maivia, veikune, hardesty I no longer give FO benefit of the doubt. Carr at 4 would be horrible.bases_loaded;1610396 wrote:I highly doubt Carr is the pick at 4....but if he is the pick...I'm assuming its because that's who they think is worthy of the 4th pick and that's enough for me.

Thank you for being the one to point that out.
I didn't have the heart to break into the "It's Grossi" rants for those on the board that struggle with reading comprehension.

That's what I thought about savage, heckert, kolkinis, etc... Now I call a bum pick when I see it and Carr at 4 is a bum panic pick (see weeden).bases_loaded;1610415 wrote:Farmer was good in KC and thus far in free agency....Im giving him the benefit of the doubt. Also....hes not taking Carr at 4

I don't think Carr fits the type of QB for this system, isn't he more of a don't leave the pocket guy?

Agreed. HIghly doubt they are bringing him for a workout to be a starter. If he still has something left, why not? He wont command much $$$, and his experience could be needed on a team that has very, very little experience at the QB position.Mohican00;1610241 wrote:I will say that I hate UT and was at The Shoe in 2005 when Texas started their march to the national championship at the expense of Ohio State.
Still, he was a helluva talent and had a not so bad NFL career (OROY, 2 x Pro bowler). If he hasn't lost it and can contribute, why not?
Hell head case Jeff George was passed around for years on throwing ability alone
Hell...as I said...could just be for an arm in training camp. Teams usually have 4 on roster, and they have 2 and will draft at least one. The roster going into camp is pretty damned big.
PLus......it is only a tryout.
The closer the draft comes, the more people should tune out what "information" is coming out and just wait until draft night. Itll drive you nuts trying to decipher what is legit, fake, conjecture, etc

What's your brilliant plan to get Watkins and JF in the same draft? You do realize we don't pick twice in the top 10, and if you are right we'd need to be picking twice in the top 5 since JFF will be taken first!Footwedge;1609547 wrote:What you said was he had one great game. Clueless Cletus at his finest. The guy looks a lot like Paul Warfield to me. If I were the general manager, Sammy and J football would be Browns next year giving them 6 all pros on offense. Maybe 7 if Lewis can stay healthy. But no...let's draft a fucking guard this year with our top pick. That'll fire up the dog pound.

Several pages back you can see the ridiculous trade scenarios he laid out in his plan to get Watkins and JFF.
