But if it's neck and neck or Hoyer looks better I don't think anyone would blame the team for starting him either. Give me a break..

First incompletion would have the crowd chanting Johnny.

The back-up QB is always the most popular guy in Cleveland.

Not to mention we want the national relevance that comes with adding Johnnyfootball to your roster.

The only thing that's bullshit is you thinking you have any credibility after this line. Pro days are absolutely meaningless for top prospects and any smart football person will tell you that, articles have been written about it, and the Browns aren't the only team who have skipped out on pro days.

Well that and the entire Carroll-Wilson-Flynn line, which seems to insinuate that everyone on this board has a memory that stretches back less than a year or so. Considering that Flynn was the hot FA back-up for that year and Wilson was a third-round pick who had a lot of questions about him to the point some considered him going that early to be a stretch.

Never said he was a genius for starting Wilson. Just saying that at the time Wilson was drafted, the general pundit consensus was that Flynn was the man there due to the amount of accolades he'd gotten for being the flavor of the month back-up (you know, like guys like Frank Reich, Steve Beuerlein, etc.) and Wilson was a dumb pick because of that and how he didn't fit the Seattle system.

While Iggy was acting like it was some "No one with a brain sits the rookie behind a journeyman!" situation. Far from it on many levels. If Flynn was 1/2 the QB the Hawks thought he was from his spot appearances in GB, Wilson would have sat for at least some period of time.

Unfortunately the Tribe will never be so lucky because we have the Dolan family bleeding the teams finances dry. They are a plague on this city and can't afford the team. Thus we are left to make the best of a bad situation.

Don't want to turn this into a tribe thread, but dolans and making money hand over fist before they begin to sell tickets. They can afford to pay and be profitable. They're just scumbags who care more about making a few extra mil to themselves than winning a championship.

ESPN's Ashley Fox writes there is a "growing sentiment" that Fresno State QB Derek Carr could be the Browns pick at No. 4.

Derek Carr is starting to grow on me, would be ok with him at 26, not so much at 4.

But he did compete in a Pro Style system, and he's got as much arm talent as anyone in the draft. Just scared he shares too much of his brothers genes.

What kind of pro style offense do you throw our of the shotgun a majority of the time?

His sophmore year they ran a more pro style offense(62.9% 3500yrd 26 TDs, 9int)

I agree the last two years was more of a spread, but hes got the experience, and was successful

But as I've said before, I really don't put too much stock into the system they play, as long as its not an option based attack, because if you can sling it, you can sling it regardless how you line up.

4. Even if we draft Manziel (or any rookie QB), you are setting yourself up for a massive QQ fest, because any QB that is drafted will be standing on the sideline this year learning from Hoyer. You guys can mark this down as another can't miss IQQY prediction. If the Browns draft Manziel (or any of the top 3 QBs), and he doesn't start, expect to see IQQY trash Pettine and the FO. That's of course assuming Hoyer doesn't bring in any wins. If the Browns start off winning, we won't see IQQY posting here.
