I want needs filled with legit NFL talent. How much more aggressive would you like him to be?
Most of our signings filled holes Farmer created, thus doing nothing to address the problems we had last year.
Building largely around the draft stinks of more 5 year plan bullshit and I am over it.

You have no idea what's goi lng on behind closed doors. Damn. Who says they haven't tried? Most athletes want on winning teams, no matter how much money you throw at them. Bottom line, you still have to convince them to want to come to Cleveland.

The too cute by half everything is national security level secrecy manure should have left when Banner's ass got canned.
Stop trying to pretend you're smarter than the rest of the league and start making things happen.
Excuses are for losers. The NFL is a results oriented business, and if you can't convince free agents to come to Cleveland than Jimmy needs to clean house until he can find someone who can.
As the Million Dollar Man said, "everybody's got a price." Farmer clearly never got the memo.

Dansby-upgrade
Whitner-upgrade
Tate- MAJOR Upgrade
Hawkins- Upgrade.
What other realistic moves would you have them make? They got better at 4 positions and got them all on great contracts.
Would you prefer them to give out shitty contracts and not have the flexibility to re-sign players?

Pro Days don't mean shit, if you draft a player or don't draft a player off of what you see in a pro day, then you've got larger problems with your team.IggyPride00;1600706 wrote:Our front office is busy playing games. So you'd rather us overpay for talent that we can get at a much lower price?
You realize a lot of players would rather play for a winning team, and often take less money to do so, right?
Contrary to what you'd like to believe money isn't everything to most of the players

You're right. Not to mention the Browns are having private workouts for 15+ QBs. Has anyone ever seen iggy say one positive thing? I can see it now, the Browns eventually (key word for the trolls: eventually) have a good season (11 wins), and iggy will be nowhere to be seen during that time. Then the Browns will end up losing in the playoffs, and of course iggy will have a "revival" and somehow find a way to bitch. It must be exhausting to be that miserable.

I have known and identified front office losers better than anyone on this board. Someone of you were still defending Banner in the face of my blistering attacks because you were unaware or unwilling to acknowledge I was right.
Farmer so far is walking a tight rope with me and the needle is heading in the wrong direction. He needs to save himself with something bold.
Get me Johnny Football and it will buy him a 2 year grace period free from attack. Give me a journeymen and it's open season.
I am over the front office types that would rather show how smart they are instead of taking the obvious talent.
Allowing Johnny Football to wear anything other than Brown and Orange is a dereliction of duty and fireable offense considering how desperately this town needs a QB.

So what happens if the Browns take Manziel and he blows? That sets the franchise back several more years, and in the mean time you can just say "my bad." I'm pretty sure the Browns brass couldn't care less what you want or "need" to see done in order to keep your so-called support. You're obviously a true Browns fan.IggyPride00;1600721 wrote:You are totally wrong.

As for Farmer and pro days, is it possible that the he was delegating and simply letting his scouts do their jobs? I know that's a novel idea, but it's possible that there are other knowledgeable members in the organization as well. I'm sure a new GM isn't going to fly into a draft by the seat of his pants. Just because his face wasn't present doesn't mean he didn't have a presence at all.

1. I am not totally wrong. Book it, you will be nowhere to be found if the Browns have a winning season. We will only see you when the Browns lose. Hell, this past season when the Browns reeled off 3 straight wins to a 3-2 record you were mia. I can already see your doom and gloom post after a week 1 loss for this upcoming season. For anyone taking notes, save this post, because it will happen. It won't be a post about the game itself, where the Browns failed to convert on opportunities. No, it will be a post about how the FO is sticking it to cleveland and showing us that they are smarter than us. He will also let us know how Mack and Haden are for sure gone after this season (just like you predicting Mack would be gone after this previous season LOL). He will also pretend that he knows exactly what Farmer is thinking and what is going on inside closed doors.IggyPride00;1600721 wrote:You are totally wrong.

2. You mean to tell me that in the past 15 years you predicted that most FO members were going to fail? WOW!!!! You went out on a limb there. Congrats on fapping to your glorious predictions. Must be hard to constantly predict failure /sarcasm.
3. Farmer doesn't give a fuck about the rope you have on him, especially since you are wrong about 98% of the time. Hopefully he never meets you or reads this forum, because fans like you give the rest of us a bad name. Also, Farmer now should draft JFF because it will give him a 2 year grace period with you? LOL, sounds like a great way to build a true winner. We should definitely trade 2 first round picks to exchange spots with the Texans now! I am glad you are not the GM.
4. Even if we draft Manziel (or any rookie QB), you are setting yourself up for a massive QQ fest, because any QB that is drafted will be standing on the sideline this year learning from Hoyer. You guys can mark this down as another can't miss IQQY prediction. If the Browns draft Manziel (or any of the top 3 QBs), and he doesn't start, expect to see IQQY trash Pettine and the FO. That's of course assuming Hoyer doesn't bring in any wins. If the Browns start off winning, we won't see IQQY posting here.

It is the single worst thing that can happen to a team. When you draft a guy in the 1st round you play him. Period.
Otherwise you are setting yourself up for a QB controversy that never ends well.
Hoyer isn't taking this team anywhere. There is a reason he is a journeymen, and that Belichek let him leave.
If this team drafts Johnny Freakin Football and thinks that Hoyer won't be booed out of the stadium in anticipation of seeing Johnny you're smoking crack.
I couldn't handle the frustration of knowing that we were employing losers and that there was nothing I could do about it.Hell, this past season when the Browns reeled off 3 straight wins to a 3-2 record you were mia.
Go back and search my posts. I went from elated to distraught the second Jimmy bought the team and it was revealed Joe Banner was a part of the deal. I knew all about him and what his presence entailed, and it destroyed my ability to enjoy Cleveland Browns football.
I knew how things were going to end from day 1, same as when Pat Shurmur was hired.
Farmer gives me glimmers of hope, but then does things that bring to mind prior regimes and it makes me nauseous.

Have to disagree on the cap room comments. They are being smart with their money versus free spending us into cap hell like Phil Savage did. Or I'll give you another example of the Panthers last season. Sure they went to the playoffs but they're losing guys like crazy because of bad contracts. 21 free agents and only $8M cap space. You know what happened to that GM that signed most of those big deals that are handcuffing the team? Fired last year.. So free spending and spending intelligently are two different things. We have cap room because Gordon, Cameron, Haden, Taylor are all going to need extensions in the coming years. Draft intelligently, sign your homegrown guys and fill needs in FA with good vets with playoff experience seems to be the strategy and a smart one at that.IggyPride00;1600702 wrote:I want needs filled with legit NFL talent.

1. The only reason they aren't 0-3 is because of Oakland's closer.
2. An older guy who was poor last year that they released in spring training (Harang) had a good start for Atlanta.
It's the sort of thing that makes me hope the Indians win 100 games this year, just to see what he can pull out of his hat to complain about as the season progresses!

Cleveland fans would be totally cool with Johnnyfootball, a top 4 pick, sitting on the bench for a guy that has bounced around the league and started less games than I have fingers on 1 hand. Get Real.
The sit and wait thing works if you have a Pro Bowler well cemented in the QB spot and fans aren't in a hurry to see a change.
Pete Carroll understood that sitting Wilson behind a career back-up like Flynn would have been a nightmare.
Hopefully if we get in that position Pettine will realize the same thing.

Dolan was the 3rd head of the of the Axis of Evil in this town as far as the big 3 teams go and we have yet to purge ourselves of them.
At least the Browns and Cavs had the wisdom to run those Bums Banner and Grant out of town.
Unfortunately the Tribe will never be so lucky because we have the Dolan family bleeding the teams finances dry. They are a plague on this city and can't afford the team. Thus we are left to make the best of a bad situation.

I'm sure it had nothing to do with Wilson purely outplaying him. Quote of 2012 preseason stats.
"Matt Flynn’s preseason stats: 7-for-26, 102 yards, one pick. Russell Wilson: 35-for-52, 464 yards, five touchdowns, one pick"
http://blogs.nfl.com/2012/08/27/did-pete-carroll-make-the-right-move-naming-russell-wilson-the-starter/
If JFF comes in and outplays Hoyer by that margin I'm sure no one would blink twice over him starting. But if it's neck and neck or Hoyer looks better I don't think anyone would blame the team for starting him either. Give me a break..
