I don't give a fuck what he does as long as he produces on the field. I hate this cry baby shit, oh he's got off the field issues, I'd rather have a good ole boy like Greg Little, he's not very good but has a hard work ethic. Fuck that D Jax all day. Then get your QB at 4 or 26. We'd be competing for a AFCN Championship

They might as well contract the franchise if they even think of picking him.

He's a born loser, just like his brother. No team with a Carr at the helm is ever going to win jack shit no matter how good they look throwing in shorts and a T-Shirt.

I can still see the fecal material dripping down David's legs while he was running around and holding the ball too long while paralyzed with fear when he was with the Texans.

We don't need anyone from that blood line in this town. Lord knows we have enough problems already.

I'm puzzled as to how you were a fan of the weeden pick.

You hate everything. Yet the one thing you didn't hate, you should have.

That's where I am at right now.

If you're going to put your job on the line as a GM, better to do it with Johnny Football than an also ran like Derek Carr.

I actually agree with you. Manziel is a boom or bust. If he booms great we are contenders, if not fuck it. Not like we are use to having shitty QB play.

Man, you two are debbie downers...

My take on DeSean: 1. He is an incredible talent 2. He has tremendous speed, and 3. He would arguably be one of the best WR2's in the league. These are all true statements. However, while those are positives, there are also a lot of negatives as well. First, aside from the obvious off-the-field issues he's had, he's been known to be a bad teammate and a negative locker room presence. This is not something you want to bring into a young, rebuilding locker room. Second, according to PFT, "it’s very possible" DeSean Jackson could command more than the $10.7 million he was due from the Eagles in 2014. That's a hefty price to pay for a #2 wide receiver. Finally, over his 6 year career, he has barely averaged 1,000 yards receiving and just over 5 touchdowns, which isn't nearly enough production to warrant $11M a year.

Don't be confused, I think DJax is a talented player and brings a lot to the table, some good and some bad. However, I believe that the price he will command is insane for what he will bring to the table. Not to mention that the Browns offense is not the up tempo, high-scoring offense that the Eagles ran, so his numbers WILL NOT be replicated, regardless of the team he signs with.

I agree that the Browns definitely need an upgrade at #2 wide receiver, but DeSean Jackson is not the answer. To think that he would come in and not be a distraction and/or create problems is foolish as he's been a problem every season, and to expect him to replicate his numbers from last season is ignorant and causes me to question your understanding and knowledge of the game. Take a chill pill and relax a little.

He has done more than a few things to lead me to believe he is a dumbass. Maybe he is growing up. We can only hope.

I actually think Carr could be a good QB. I'm probably the only person in the world though that thought David Carr could have probably been a decent NFL QB if he had protection. His line was so bad that he lost his mechanics (footwork) because he was always ready to scramble for his life instead of throwing. It's kind of like what happened to Carson Palmer. He took one hit that blew out his knee and his footwork has been bad ever since because he's afraid to get it hit like that again.

Browns need to get it done...thatis Manziel AND Sammy need to be drafted. If I were the GM,it would get done. Quality over quantity, each and every time.

As for the knuckleheads that don't see the value in having 2 all pro wide receivers, just a huge LOL. Some argued that having 2 all pro wo's, doesn't equate to championships. Well. GTFOOH with that nonsense. Many championship teams had an all star tandem. 50 years ago the Browns had Warfield. a HOFer and voted the 19th best Brown ever. Along side of him was all pro Gary Collins, voted the 15th best Brown ever.

Orr/ Berry. Dale/Dowler, JT/Rice, TO/Rice, and how about HOfers Swan and Stallworth. Yeah the Steelers never won any titles in the 70's with those 2, right?

Rookie GM Farmer will probably pick a tackle and then a guard in the first round and then call it a day.

Maybe I am missing something, but does Footy really think the Browns can draft 2 guys that are projected to be top 5 picks with only 1 pick in the top 5?

Do you plan on them pulling a Saint's esque trade and giving up every single pick to move up from 26 to top 5 with their other #1?

Quality over Quantity....SMH

there is quality to be had in every round of the NFL draft if you draft smart.

Instead of a HOF forum can we just have a footwedge forum so we all can laugh at his posts?

Football hasn't evolved since the 60's in footwedge's little world.

Boom! Curveball...

NBC Washington D.C. reports the Browns and 49ers are interested in and have reached out to free agent DeSean Jackson.

The Browns are "going hard" with an offer to Jackson while the 49ers contacted Jackson during his visit with the Redskins and have "thrown their hat in the ring" for the 27-year-old. If the Redskins want to land Jackson, it appears they can't let him leave the facility on Tuesday. Jackson and Josh Gordon in Cleveland would almost be unfair. Either player could take the top off the defense at any time and would provide whoever the quarterback is with two legitimate No. 1s. In San Fran, Jackson's numbers would likely suffer in a run-heavy offense that also includes Vernon Davis, Michael Crabtree, and Anquan Boldin.

It may very well be, but not without Farmer putting some effort into it. Plus, the Skins don't really have a ton of cap space. Pretty certain the Browns could offer a more enticing package if they want to. I don't know if I really WANT DJax with his baggage, but I also am not the GM.

Josh Gordon just said on Dan Lebatard's ESPN show that he wants Johnny Football in a Browns uniform.

Give the man what he wants.

Wonder if the browns brass got to him to put out that possible misinformation after his interview last week talking how they would take a QB first. They have been pretty coy so far

While that may be true, looking at the way he mentioned Johnny Football's proday performance I get the sense that as a receiver he would love to have that guy throwing him the ball.

Gordon's a young guy, and would probably love having around that swag that Johnny Football brings to a huddle.
