So why are we arguing then? You admit there's a bias, who cares about the reason? Enjoy!sherm03;1023065 wrote:
Nowhere did I say there wasn't a bias involved. I just said that the mentality that ESPN is out to get OSU and hates them is not true. If it were, OSU would not get ANY exposure on the network.

Yes, it hurts that Steve Spurrier went off to fail in the NFL. And that Ron Zook bought some time before running off and leaving Florida to hire a no-name coach who can't stay put. And that said no-name happened to win a couple national titles.sleeper;1023042 wrote:Ah, interesting perspective although not unique. There are tons of stepping stone universities in which coaches leave to go to a much better program. Never would have guessed a program as large as Florida would have the shame of being a stepping stone, must suck. LOL
I certainly don't begrudge Meyer for wanting to go to a conference where he's got a clear path to the national title game every year. I'm just glad I got to enjoy the two titles before half the league solved him.

Yeah, I mean, the 80s kind of sucked with the probation and all, but got to see a title in the 90s and two in the 00s. Not many other groups of fans have gotten to live that, so I'll take it. Were you talking about the 50s again?queencitybuckeye;1023190 wrote:fify

Dude, you really should replenish your retort supply. You're spent and unfortunately you didn't get as much mileage out "stepping stone" as you are with the whole Brian Kelly killed a kid thing.sleeper;1023177 wrote:Jealous hater, clap.... clap... clap-clap-clap

Some of what Sherm03 says is true, the part about the huge loyal fan base and the equally large group of haters all being interested in the story. He is right on there in why ESPN would not let it die. MONEY

While I tend to agree with that, it doesn't explain the lack of coverage for USC's situation[SP]0311sdp;1023678 wrote:Some of what Sherm03 says is true, the part about the huge loyal fan base and the equally large group of haters all being interested in the story.
