I have to agree, if the Cavs can get Paul by giving that up, you do it. However, I don't see how that is enticing to New Orleans.

How? You give up 2 players who barely played in the playoffs and Mo Williams who cant touch Paul. I dont care who the other player is, that trade would be in the Cavs favor.

Rumor has it they would want Jamison in the deal also

So if You would add Jamison in..the deal would look like this:

Mo Williams/Delonte West
JJ Hickson
Antwan Jamison
2011 First Round Pick

for

Chris Paul

I don't see the NO trade talks AT ALL. I'm really shocked some people believe in the notion it really could happen. If NO wants to get rid of Paul because they have a young stud, why would they want to pay another PG 27M for 3 years? They would be looking to ship out another big contract if possible, and then get pieces they really need. If NO deals Paul, there are a lot better options out there then Cleveland.

Rumor has it? You just totally made that up.

Most likely it'd be Mo, Hickson, and a draft pick or two. NO is not going to take on Jamison's contract.

Listen to the radio sleeper...it's been mentioned on multiple stations

Rumor has it? So if that's a legitimate rumor then you are admitting that there is interest from both sides and is realistic?

NO is only considering a deal because they want to dump cap space, they aren't going to take on a huge contract to do that, and that's exactly what Jamison's is. Mo/Delonte + Hickson, and a draft pick or two is fairly cheap and highly realistic.

I don't expect you to understand that, you've shown time and time again you know nothing about the NBA or sports in general.

Seems as if most people around here don't understand how some moves work.

I'm sure gibby would have said the Gasol move wasn't realistic either. But it happened.

I'm just reporting what I've heard on the radio, which is that for NO to even consider dealing Paul to the Cavs...they would have to get Hickson,Jamison, another player, and a draft pick(most likely a first rounder)

Mo isn't exactly cheap either sleeper. That would kind of defeat the whole purpose of letting the young guy control the team, which is a big reason why they'd trade Paul-- because they believe the youngin' has something special in him. Would they bring Mo in to start and just trash that whole idea, or would they pay a backup 8M+, or just simply not trade for Mo?

I understand the financial problems in New Orleans, but doesn't it have a lot to do with not selling tickets? If you get rid of Paul, you lose even more of a fanbase.

Plus, his contract really isn't that outrageous. He'll make $15 million next year and $16 the following and by bringing in Delonte, Mo and Hickson they are due $15 next season and then almost $11 the following after Delonte's contract expires.

Plus the draft pick would be at the bottom of the first round.

I don't see any reason why New Orleans would even take a second look at that offer?

To be a contender, the Cavs need a point guard and a center (Shaq and Z are too old and Hickson to small) that's if Lebron stays. If he leaves it's back to square one, they are not even a playoff team without Lebron. Cleveland does not have a lot that anyone else is going to want.

Off topic, but I disagree. Cavs are a 6-8 seed in the East w/o LeBron.

With that said, Bosh isn't really realistic IMO and the Hornets would be stupid to trade one of the best PG's in the game as a salary dump.

That's what is frustrating, the unrealistic talk on here by Cavs fans. First off, we are taking for granted that Lebron resigns. Then we get coaching names thrown around like Coach K and Phil Jackson, and now we are talking about bringing in Bosh and Chris Paul. It just makes absolutely no sense.

Yes, it does. Because players like LeBron attract big names. Shit gets done when you have an asset like that.

I don't know if you are directing that to my post, but we are talking about a sign and trade for Bosh and a trade for Paul? Neither of which make sense.

They both make sense, certainly can't make both happen. But both are plausible. I've never once said they will happen, in fact, I've said the opposite--I doubt either one will happen. But you can't say either isn't possible.

I said neither is realistic, if you want that to mean that it's not possible, then yes, I can say that.

If it's possible then it is realistic. It may be unlikely but it realistically can happen.

You are spinning my words, I said it was unrealistic. You then said that it was possible. Of course it's possible, anything is possible, but in a realistic view, it's not going to happen.

I don't think it is unrealistic though. I think it may be unlikely, but there is going to be a big push to make something like this happen and when a player the caliber of LeBron is involved, there aren't too many things that are unrealistic. Situations as rare as this one can cause weird, unusual things to happen.

I don't understand what Lebron has to do with? He's not going to be involved in the trade. Again, we are not talking about free agency, we are talking about trades.

So team A wants to trade with Cleveland because they have Lebron? It doesn't make any sense.
