Sure
posted by ptown_trojans_1Hard disagree. I think die hards and most casual fans are going to like the big match ups every week and the new playoff. Yes, some rivals are going away, but that's always been the case. But, hey at least we are getting Texas and Texas A&M next year.
Look at the weekly SEC and Big Ten schedules each week next year. It is going to be great.
College football is the 2nd most popular sport in terms of ratings. I think it only grows in the coming years.
And yes, Michigan still sucks.
I think that we have to see how this all plays out. OSU picks up Oregon for a conference game, but they don't play any power 5 (or whatever we call it now) non-conference. The overall schedule for OSU isn't that different, with a lot of bad matchups. The regular season won't be as dramatic (especially in November). A loss will just move a team down a few seeds instead of knocking them out of a national championship. They need to figure out rules for NIL and the transfer portal to keep that from destroying some programs.

I agree. This year was the most disinterested I've been in the game in 20 years.
I've never personally cared for the pro game because it's just people playing for money. There's no allegiance to the team, they're just there to get paid.
The college game at least had the facade that players were playing for their school.
Now that is gone and they're just doing the same thing that pros are.
I get that they probably should get paid... but the transfer rodeo makes the product significantly less interesting to me.
Couple that with the "super conferences" and the stuff that made college football special is all but gone.
I normally eat up college football but found myself watching less and less as the season went on. I thought gambling would make it more interesting but I lost interest in that too. I didn't even bother watching any of the playoff games this year. I think I only caught one bowl game start to finish (OSU/Mizzou, a game in which I turned it on and did other things while it was on in the background)

Saban will end up getting a bunch of money to end up on College Game Day. Lee Corso is starting to sound like Joe Biden up there.

I’m not convinced he would want to do that.
