Couple of interesting endings in the ACC:
1) FSU rebounds ball down 1 with 7-8 seconds left. Goes length of floor and shoots contested three pointer that misses. I’m sure they had a timeout. I hate not taking it in that situation. I know you’re trying to catch defense off guard but too often I see the offense just blow it with a miserable shot.
2) Clemson up 1 shooting free throws against UNC with 2.7 seconds left. UNC no timeouts. Clemson did what I would have done and missed free throw. By time UNC rebounds and turns/dribbles they’re heaving a 60+ shot (that missed) Don’t make that free throw and give UNC the chance to get a closer, cleaner shot off.
First off, Duke fan here. After watching last nights game - Cayden Boozer will need to play much better for Duke to have a shot at a final four. There's a significant difference between him and Foster IMO.
Secondly, I am okay with FSU not taking a timeout there. Defense for Duke was a bit unorganized. McCray got matched with a freshmen Sarr and he had been playing well the past 2 nights and really the last month at that. Plus to end the 1H he hit a really tough shot at the buzzer. Duke, is one of the best defensive teams in the country - I will take my chances in a situation like that rather than let them get set up and matched up. I am betting Scheyer would've subbed Khamenia in for Cayden Boozer and Duke would've been 6'9, 6'9, 6'8, 6'8, 6'6 out there defending a SLOB to end the game w/ ~ 4 seconds
