I've seen a few things on twitter lately out of Iran but haven't dug too deep. Saw a video today that was supposedly some goons from the regime beating and shooting a female protester at point blank range. I have no idea what the supposed crime was supposed to be but it was brutal. Anyone able to TLDR and/or ELI5 the situation for a dummy?

My lady asked me yesterday why National Guardsmen had been deployed overseas. Wonder if this had something to do with it?

I think a few days ago a woman was arrested for not wearing a hijab.  She died a day or two later in jail after supposedly being beaten.

Respect to the women in that country protesting - a little less tolerance than BLM enjoys here.

Mahsa Amini was arrested violently by the morality police due to wearing her headdress too loosely. She died 3 days later in jail of "heart failure". The entire country is protesting the death. At least 17 deaths have resulted, including many, many women who have been shot point blank for not wearing the headdress/hijab as a symbol of the protest. I do not think this goes on much before other parties get involved.

Religion of Peace police killed a lady in custody for not wearing her “don’t rape me” head scarf / hajib.  Sparked a large series of open protest in the face of the religious police killing and cracking skulls of the participants.  It’s basically people showing a ton of guts to stand up to a horrible religion and its sick leaders.


INB4 QO’s “the religious police in Iran are merely expressions of Biden’s criminal leadership”.
