Calling for 1-2” where I am in the Carolinas, and 2-4” elsewhere. Gonna fuck up the south. We were supposed to travel to Columbia, SC for a soccer tournament Saturday morning, thankfully they cancelled it in time for me to not lose $150 room reservations

I keep telling myself that the temps will lower the spider population!

At least in NE Ohio, we’ve had several mild winters in a row. The check was coming due sooner or later.

The worst part so far has been that my dog refuses to poop in 12 inches of snow and also has refused to poop on aidewalk  or a road.. I have shoveled a large area in the grass but I guess not large enough..

My pipes are fine!!!!!! Only thing maybe frozen is the water line to the refrigerator which to be honest I didn’t think to drain. I also don’t think it’s frozen because it’s still making ice it’s just not refilling the automatic pitcher. I have GE coming out to look at in a couple weeks and it’s under warranty anyways.

Also wife’s surgery went semi well. They got the kidney stone that was blocking but it was so bad they weren’t able to go up in her kidney and get those ones. She’s going to be pissed she has to come back in 6 weeks. Her not able to train for marathons is going to kill her mentally.

How bad did it get? Looks like North Carolina got destroyed. 12+ inches in some spots.

Ended up with only an inch or so. Charlotte got like 11.

Felt we were due for one. Seems like every year for the last few, there's been a couple weeks where 3-4-5 inches of snow would get dumped and things would be inconvenient for a day or so, but for the most part, it was smooth sailing. Last one that stuck out in my mind was probably a decade or a bit more ago when the wind chill was -25 to -30 for a few days. At least in north-central Ohio; other regions may have had different experiences.
