I need to get away from Time Warner Cable.  THey are ridiculously expensive.

What are my options?

AT&T U-verse, which will be cheaper the first year, then ridiculously expensive the second year and on.

$54.00/month internet only with Time Warner...

Is that considered "ridiculously expensive"?

Also, if you're not already, purchase the modem. Renting from the ISP is for suckers.

I don’t know if I’ve heard about any service from TW being positive in 5+ years

Internet is a want, just like air conditioning.  You can do without.

I've had Spectrum/TWC internet for about 3 years...been pretty satisfied overall. Getting 100/10 speed for $45/mo.

Been with TWC for 7-8 years now. Never had an issue. Pay 134.36 a month for 100/10, hbo, sports channel, and cinemax. Bought a modem and been using it for 8+ years. With my own modem I am running about 115/12. Didnt realize they made that much of a difference.  I always see people bitching about TWC but I have yet to have a bad experience.
