All around us today…a county north getting hammered and a county south will have sizable flooding on the Ohio River.

About a month ago a tornado went through Rt 32 in Pike County and took out the top 1/2 of every tree for huge patches down the highway…..not a single house though was damaged and to see the path and have no housing damage is honestly unbelievable.

Fair amount of rain recently. Nothing serious, at least where I live. That I know about - I can be kind of oblivious, especially when playing music loudly!

We have tons of lightning today and several downpours. It was weird because it came in waves. From what I saw, there was a tornado in the next county south of me. Haven't looked to see how bad it was, though.

And just now my power blinked. But the sky looks good right now so probably an old tree leaning on wires, somewhere. 

Lost power at 8pm and it's still not back and AEP is still showing no estimated restoration time. Fun.

There is flooding everywhere in my area. Currently trying to keep in touch with my aunt because her back yard is starting to flood. The bad thing is that her phone lines are also wonky because of all the rain. Might have to take today off just to make sure I can get to her and bring her home with me. If it floods up where I live, we are all in trouble lol!

The farm is so absolutely saturated with water it is ridiculous. Some small flooding in the area. My mom is currently trapped at her house because there is flooding over a small bridge in one direction and tree down in the other. 

I think we got 2.5" of rain just yesterday. On top of the 8-9" we already got over the last 12 days.

And the grass is growing like crazy during this time of usually dry.

I was finally able  to mow on Tuesday evening and the yard was still soggy in a lot of spots. Lovely brown tire tracks criss crossing at least a third of the yard. And it needs mowed again already.

It's been weird, for sure. Here in NC Ohio, there's been rain and thunder, but nothing serious, at least around where I live. Have seen flood warnings for the area, but nothing that's affected me. But it's crazy how patchy everything has been . My mom was telling me that the town about 8 miles from her house got something like 5 inches a couple days ago and another town about 10 miles southwest was completely flooded. She got 2 tenths of an inch.

Just got in about an hour ago from mowing my back yard.  Started just  before dusk.  Always like mowing in the cool of the evening.  Brush pile was dry enough to light up and the woods wet so great time to burn.  Very peaceful as it got dark with my tractor lights on and the fire burning.  Got a lot of mature trees in and mostly around the yard in the woods so storm winds bring down some dead branches that need picked up.  My tractor has a front loader so just stop pick up and dump on the fire.

There is a small watershed at the back of my property that at this time of year is "dry" enough to mow.  Not going to try this year.  Ohio sweet corn is going to be great.  Got a couple of cucumbers in the fridge that are the size of a club.

Bad storm yesterday evening in westshore suburbs of Cleveland. 15 solid minutes of hail and very high winds. Don’t see any damage on the house. 

We lost power last night because of the storms. Losing power seems to happen every week nowadays. I don't attribute that to the storms, however. It's the complete drop-off of preventative maintenance from the electric company.

Was at my camper at Atwood Lake (SE of Canton) during Saturday's storms.

2 lightning strikes hit within 200 yards of our camper and shook the camper. 1st was right across the bay of the lake in the camping area there. The other was other side maybe 50 yards out in the lake.

I think that's the closest I've ever been to an actual strike, that I knew of. When the strike is so close the thunder actually shakes you, you know its close.
