What’s with the new outrage about flock cameras. I know red light cameras were a scam but how are these. From what I can tell they can help locate missing people/wanted people and help police identify cars in the area a crime took place.
I don’t plan on committing any kind of crime that would involve a flock camera and would want anyone who did to be captured why are people against them.

I've never committed a crime other than a speeding violation and I still believe these are too far in the surveillance department.
These aren't cameras they have to get a warrant for, they are always accessible and use AI to track things down to specific dents/scratches on cars to identify them.

I think that also there isn’t much transparency on when, where, and how the data is being used and who has access to it. I have seen people having lots of pushback when trying to make FOIA requests on their own data.
To add to what has already been said:
We pay police departments/investigators... get a warrant and make them get on with it.

Slippery Slope is a fallacy. I also think there is good that can come from it. In Texas we constantly got Amber Alerts in Tennessee we constantly get Silver alerts. In both of these alerts Flock cameras can help and may save someone’s life.
We also saw the couple that was murdered in Columbus and the camera picked up the ex husband in the area at the time of the murder and helped solve the case.

I don't think so. The Patriot Act was supposed to be temporary, as an example.
If you can show me something that proves it's a fallacy, I will consider changing my mind.
Slippery Slope arguments are literally always a fallacy and the arguments are made to simply scare people. Groups like the ACLU then use these arguments to create outrage and raise donations.
The actual facts about Flock Cameras are they are used to help find Amber Alert and Silver alerts, recover stolen vehicles, and solve crimes. There are no facts that show anything bad flock cameras have done the bad is all based on things that haven’t happened.
Not all slippery slope arguments are a fallacy. There are absolutely, 100%, real arguments to be made that A leads to B leads to C.
Personally, I tend to side with the option that is NOT "let's allow the people in charge to put cameras wherever they want because we need watched by our overlords". But that's just me.
