There is always a positive spin put on the label when the government wants to spend tax dollars.  Whatever label they slapped on this appropriation "condoms for hamas" likely is far more representative of its worth.

Seems like more of just a distraction so he can take revenge on his political enemies while the news cycle focuses on it.

This Kennedy confirmation hearing is hilarious. One side is giving blowjobs and the other side is crucifying. I can’t believe that the Republicans are supporting his nomination other then they are afraid of Trump.

I think it's political moves for the Republicans. To actually have a blue blood Kennedy for a Republican presidents cabinet? Yeah, they want that for a feather in their cap. I'm not sure if the Republicans care all that much about getting carcinogens, heavy metals and all the rest out of foods and vaccines. So they will have to give the appearance of it.

It surprises me that the Dems, at the same time, are trying so hard to ruin and deny a Kennedy. Like, that's their blue blood name to have, have always had for 100 years. I think losing this Kennedy, or rather pushing him away, will be to their detriment for a long time. They are playing a stupid and losing game from the get-go imo.

Personally, I like what he wants to do as long as 1.) he does it silently and 2.) isn't President while doing it.

I haven't even finished getting caught up on previous cabinet members hearings let alone Kennedy's or Tulsi's.

I've seen a bunch of pundits predicting that Tulsi has the least chance of getting enough votes, even with Vance's vote. The Dems really hate her since she didn't obey the Dem party bosses. Not only that, but she didn't run away crying and drop off the face of the Earth after Hillary called her a Russian asset. Then she called Hillary the Queen of the warmongers and that just sent the Dems into apoplexy. But the final straw was when she registered as a Republican and stumped for Trump. They want her blood, figuratively speaking.

As much as I think she is capable of the job, I'm not holding my breath.

If the Rs don’t circle the wagons on Tulsi and get her through they are morons.

So you maybe right

She also does not have a good answer about her time in Syria and meeting with Asad. Her views on Asad were bad at the time and look terrible now.

The on again off again OMB memo is a nice example of how Trump is still trying to figure out how to function as President.

Not a great start for the Press Secretary either.

Why are they bad? And why is it terrible now?

Really?

She has visited Syria some years ago, met with Assad, with bipartisan blowback. She has not explained why she went and what her and Assad discussed.

She also was not critical of Assad and since his downfall, her views looks even worse now.

She has explained why she went many times over. But she has not stated what was said between them. Okay.

And she has not bad-mouthed him. Okay. This is stupid. I mean, keeping some opinions to oneself is not a disqualifier. One could even say that keeping opinions to oneself is a bonus for the job that she's been nominated for.

It is when she is going to be our Director of National Intelligence.

What exactly was discussed with Assad and who else was there is a key issue too, considering Assad's allies at the time were Iran and Russia.

All of it is still murky as her answers have shifted over time and not direct.

I know you like Tulsi, and she will probably get confirmed, but she does need to fully explain her view on this important issue.

Please... just as a favor, tell me that you are not one of those people who thinks everybody is a Russian asset. Maybe I'm reading your post with the wrong bias and not being very generous - but it looks to me very akin to The View type of sentiments. I also have had my gut full of the Hillary Clinton spawned hoax hysterics. And that's not something most people have any patience for lately.

Maybe is resentfulness born of unfulfilled curiosity. That would make more sense coming from a wonky type person. At least to me, it would make sense.

But yeah, the majority of people are over all of the double agent, asset, etc. crap.

No, not a Russian asset, but has views that favor the Syrian point of view that turned out to be wrong.

She also did not believe Assad gassed his own people, when we can see that he did, especially as his regime has fallen.

I'm not a conspiracy theorists, so don't believe she is the worst that is sad about it. I just think she is unqualified and holds terrible positions on foreign policy.

This is where my views differ greatly from yours.

I see nothing wrong with the idea that the US doesn't need to make everybody's business our business - especially if diplomacy is given the chance to work.

There is this weird thing where if somebody doesn't support our involvement in war then has the audacity to not shit talk about the person involved - accusations are thrown left and right.

I'm a sick and hateful way (lol) I hope the Dems keep this crap going. I really really do. But I digress.

Disclosure: I just woke up after not sleeping well and am in my first cup of coffee. So I'm still partially brain dead and not ambitious enough to refresh my memory.

I am remembering only the tiniest amounts of the claims that Syria was gassing it's own people. I remember watching a female reporter sniffing a backpack and announcing that it stunk.

Can you list heads of intelligence agencies that, in the past 25 years that have been wrong?  I can't remember names at the moment and too lazy to go look them up. But I can name administrations going back to 2001 where they have been wrong. Hell, the wrongness started before I was born.

Oh dear...

The dumb asses posting that Trump fired the head of the TSA, like they have anything to do with the air traffic controllers, was humorous.

Im sorry but with no evidence and no investigation, to come out and say that common sense tells you that it had to be a minority, a woman or a gay person is absolutely racist af
