Heading up tomorrow for some Bieber Fever. Go Tribe.
If the Tribe can manage another sweep and Rays give us some help, might get back into this race by the end of June...which may be the front office “unofficial” deadline. Let’s make it happen, I ain’t ready to break up this team, think they have another run in them next year.

Would've never thought this a few weeks ago but could they be potential buyers at the deadline?

I stick by the notion they should trade a pitcher. Not be sellers, I see that as a backwards way to be buyers.
20 days ago on Twins/Tribe thread I posted Indians would start closing the game and getting it going....since then they’ve had the best record in the AL at 13-5...no MLB team with fewer losses over that time. Gained 3 1/2 on Twins

I don't disagree. What position would you be looking for?
Yeah, they have been playing quite well recently, almost makes up for the shitty May. They could finish the month of June up nicely with the KC series, but also against the lowly Os.
Looking at July, the only teams they play above .500 are against the Twins right after the break, and the Astros to end the month. Plenty of time still.
Just keep winning series. I am more suprised by the Twins keeping up their pace smh.

Any OF spot. Maybe 2B? Maybe 1B and split Santana with DH, since Bradley has only 1 day. But if he hits, this obviously goes away.
3B...but Jose makes too much and is signed long term. This simply isn’t happening. And he is still valuable enough overall to probably keep around.

Totally agree with both points.
It’s looking iffy for tonight’s game.

RH hitting OF. If anything I'll stick with my Dickerson prediction. Maybe Kevin Pillar as a decent option to platoon w/ Naquin
While Rick and Matt talk shit during the delay, sending Birthday Wishes to Art in Ada, Harvey in Hubbard, Bob in Beloit, and Mickey in Mentor.
Happy Birthday ladies!

Luplow is a fine platoon with Naquin. If your going to upgrade the entire position that’s fine, but I’m not trading for a platoon player. Everyday upgrade or nothing.
Laley: you said maybe 2B. Explain please?

Just think of a 2B becomes available we shouldn’t count on Kipnis continuing this upward trend. And if he does, DH or OF us always available.
Mainly, I was pointing out we have like 4 positions that are “off limits” on trades. Santana/Lindor/Perez...and for other reasons, Jose.
I see.
Interesting you say Perez is “off limits”.
How about Hand? I would say he is “off limits”, too.

Take a look at the offseason thread and I was one of the few people not surprised by this at all with Perez. Advanced metrics showed he would be the 2nd best catcher in the AL. Granted, most of that was his insane defensive numbers, but consistent ABs projected a decent amount of power and he has always had good control of the strike zone (though he whiffs a lot, it’s usually at strikes, not chasing).
Plus, who are we trading for that is an upgrade...?
As for Hand, yeah I’m holding onto him. Need him for a run this year or next. But, not quite off limits if someone comes at them with the type of trade Indians made for Miller. Maybe ask for more since he is a Closer vs Set-Up? But not sure you’d get it.
After a 2hour rain delay we have baseball.
Tied 1-1.
