Boggs? I feel every recent one got a September call up killing their chances.

  • Joe D
  • Teddy Ballgame
  • Musial?
  • Mantle?
  • Jeter?

You got two of them.  Joe and Ted.

Musial had 3 in his first five season.

Mantle had 1.

Jeter had 4.

There it is.  He's #3.
Joey D, Teddy, and Jackie are the only three HOFers to do it since 1930.

For the record, the fact that he hasn't been guessed much is why I picked the question.

Strike of 1981 kept Eddie fucking Murray off this list

Of course Eddie got that close.

Always a good answer.

Nice. My next guess was Puckett. Just looked him up. Fell 5 short in first year then ripped off 6 in a row.

Guys like Jim Rice and some lesser guys gave me the inspiration for this thread.

Doesnt take much thought to guess Willie Mays, Hank Aaron and Ted Williams

This thread has people appreciating the Eddie Murray, Paul Molitor, Frank Thomas etc

I did have a bunch built up.  I went to bed to stories of these guys for like a decade.

Have a framed picture of Ted up in my office even.  My grandfather, the man who got me into baseball, has a matching one.

I know that he's not hall of fame yet, but the last question made me think of Ichiro, so I looked him up. He was 170+ his first 12 seasons, and 200+ his first 10 seasons.

Question #102

On the all-time single season strikeout list there are only 4 HOFers listed in the top 500! Only 3 in the top 280 and only 2 in the top 100!

List the 4 HOFers on this dubious list.
