QUESTION #26

This Hall of Fame pitcher once led the league with the lowest ERA for a starting pitcher and still managed a winning percentage of just .333 (2.76 ERA, 8-16 record).  Who was it?

That’s 1987 Nolan Ryan....struck out like 275 that year I think as well

QUESTION #27:

This Hall of Fame pitcher with a top-ten career ERA owes much of his pitch movement to a farming accident when he was a child.

NOT HOF, but didnt want to start another thread.

  • Since 1980, 8 players have finished top-5 in the MVP voting 4 or more times -- without a win. Name them.

Murray with 6 is leader. Piazza and Manny 4 each. Puckett just missed with some 5-10 places and 3 top 5.

No to all. Sheffield had 3. Vlad won one, otherwise would’ve qualified with 4. Bell had 3, but also a win. Jeter had 3.
