posted by SportsAndLadySurprised by the Haley firing. But Thinking about it, I shouldn’t have been. Tough to convince a good HC to come to Cleveland if there’s already an OC in place (and not a very good one). Imagine they’ll want their own offense and OC to come with them.
I'd be shocked if Williams is even around after this year. A HC gonna want to bring in his guys (plus Garret complaining also looks bad).
A lot of rumors coming out that players DID NOT like Hue. Supposedly someone called him Michael Scott.
And as I type, it looks like Williams is the interim.

LOL if true.

...but who will coach the O?!?
Albright was the one who tweeted the michael scott quote. Said a player on the browns told him that Hue reminded everyone on the team of michael Scott. Lol I laughed for a good minute on that one.
Freddie Kitchens interim OC

Kitchens. Young assistent

I had to look to ensure he wasn't our old Dline player Ishmaa'ily Kitchen who played at Kent.

That’s pretty good

A couple people today are whining that now the Browns are rebuilding again and they should have kept him based on the improvements they've made this season (couple wins, a tie, couple other games majorly impacted by refs). I couldn't imagine being upset because my team finally fired one of the worst head coaches the NFL has ever seen.

As a Bengals fan (I think?), you probably should be used to the "Stockholm Syndrome" mentality of keeping an uninspiring coach around because, uh, things could be worse! Marvin's sitting back now with a cold beer in hand, laughing about how he's mastered the formula to keep kicking around indefinitely and all these other guys can't figure it out.

It's remarkable how many people want to die on this hill. You can come up with any excuse you want for Hue, but it doesn't change the fact that he was only capable of 3 wins in 40 games. Every season his teams regressed/showed no improvement, found new ways to lose, were undisciplined, and made the same mistakes. Other than Hue being a good guy, I will never understand why people will go out of their way to defend him. He was the worst coach the Browns have had since they returned and that is saying A LOT. Some coaches are meant to be coordiantors or position coaches. Hue is easily in that category.

I have seen the “he already has 2 wins this year after the browns only won one game in two seasons prior to this year” argument. That would be an okay argument IF HUE WASNT ALSO THE COACH OF THOSE PRIOR TWO YEARS! It’s baffling how dumb people are.
It makes me love Gundy’s rant from the other day even more. People on Twitter are the worst.

I have seen this take too, which brings the lulz considering the fact the browns significantly outplayed 3 teams (steelers week 1, saints, and raiders), but still lost. You could potentially throw in the buccs game, where they gave up 114 yards in penalties.
I don't think it's unreasonable to say a good coach would have this team at 5-3 or 6-2 at this point.

The league is set up for team's not to be this historically bad. They've set it up so teams should get at least 5 wins +/-. The fact that they didn't "dumb luck" into at least 3 wins last year just shows his ineptness.
Dream hire would be John flippino and then he brings Schwartz to be the d coordinator. Since his contract is up with the eagles he wouldn’t need permission from the eagles to interview.
As for other candidates.. Matt Campbell is interesting. He’s one hell of a coach and what he’s done at Iowa st. Is just amazing. He’s a northeast Ohio guy, plus the game last week was just awesome, 3rd and 9 running out the clock, runs a play action deep ball for a TD to ice the game.
Lincoln Riley is very interesting. Great coach that is very innovative. A lot of NFL coaches have come to him about his offense. Obviously his system is great for baker. The only concern I have is his lack of NFL contacts and being able to fill out a coaching staff. If he does get hired, I wouldn’t be surprised to see bob stoops come join him in some compacity.

Schwartz is trying to become a HC somewhere..why would he take a lateral move from Philly to Cleveland? That's a pipe dream. If anything he'd be coming to Cleveland as HC.
I don't think Defillio is a possibility either. He was our OC already and Haslam basically fired him on the spot so that Hue Jackson could call plays as the HC (nice decision Haslam you dipshit). I doubt he'll come back.
My choices would be a) Lincoln Riley, b) Zac Taylor & c) Eric Bieniemy.
So what are the expectations, going forward, for the final 8 games?

I just want them to win 4 more games so I can win a little money. And I want Baker to play well and stay injury-free.
